Well it sounds better as the day has progressed.... I think we'll know the results of this one fairly quickly as it's only one race to tabulate except in the 5th CD. So all should go quickly..... Once statewide results begin to show it won't take long to get a trend....

In the Gonzales area, the turnout appears to be heading for a 35 to 40 percent total.

I checked a precinct in a very Republican area of Old Metairie at 5:30 p.m. 158 out of 361 had voted. The election clerk said turnout had been as good as it gets, better than Nov. 5. Unless some major funny business occurs in New Orleans, we may be home free. There is still an hour to vote.
