Politicians get a lot of flak, much of it deserved. But it's important to recognize, too, when they perform above the call of duty.
We're talking, of course, about Assembly Speaker Herb Wesson, Assembly Republican Leader Dave Cox, Senate Republican Leader Jim Brulte and the dozen or so other members of the Legislature who are attending a meeting this week sponsored by the California Correctional Peace Officers Association (CCPOA).

I'm sorry but I think this is sooooo funny. Brulte & Cox are Republican leaders (Senate & Assembly respectively). Wesson is the speaker and he's a democrat. LOL!!!

And by the way, because the structural deficit is so large, we are going to have to revamp our criminal justice system, reducing the number of people who end up in expensive prisons and reducing costs for imprisoning those who remain Ummm...gee...Do ya think, maybe, just maybe, we could deport them???

Is consorting with the "enemy" on a tropical island too heavy of a charge? admit it, we're just jealous ;-P
I wanna know how they can afford to pay the sales tax there. Isn;t Hawaii the most overtaxed, socialist state or is that Vermont?

When I used to live there, the tourist had to pay fees/taxes up the wazoo. Used to be a $12.00 added fee for every hotel stay. Ha! However, I will say this, Linda Lingle is now the Governor and she's a Republican. I wonder if Brulte and Cox are meeting with her. That would make for an interesting story. I still think this is hilarious!!!
