I stand corrected on the quality of that Yale football team. Your note jogged my memory. The wags who rate football teams actually put Yale in the top 10, just before that Harvard game. (Though I thought Harvard won, not tied Yale, in that game.) I'm almost certain that Trudeau was in the class of '65, however. His first work as a cartoonist appeared either in the Yale Record or in the Yale Daily News, I do not recall which. For decades I very much liked his work, until he went into his Johnny-one-note vendetta against the Republicans.
Billybob, '64 (Lordy, that was a LONG time ago)

Wow - you're really old. I was still in diapers in '64, and I'm a middle aged fart now.
Hehehe.

I cannot imagine Mrs. Heinz-Kerry as First Lady. She is so intolerant and an elitest!

I cannot imagine Mrs. Heinz-Kerry as First Lady. She is so intolerant and an elitest! Think Martha Mitchell and add a few db. And, remember, Martha didn't have Rush and cable news to contend with.

When I was a wee lad in the 1970s I had a Doonsbury book that compiled his Yale strips.
Not only did he lampoon Brian Downing, he used Calvin Hill as a character also, although Calvin played the incisive straight man to B.D.'s absurdity.
I actually remember the Kerry strip from back then. My God, I was 9 at the time!

There are people out there that feel like Garry Trudeau is some die hard lefty, but I think he's an equal opportunity basher. That guy just cracks me up, and he's just about the only strip that I read on a daily basis. I just love that Mr. Butts.Lets see, we go back 31 years to finally find a Doonsbury cartoon that pokes minor fun at a democrat (and war veteran) and we call that 'equal opportunity'. Hmmmnn...
