I met a firefighter from Coos Bay FD at the 9-11 Pelco 1st anniversary ceremony for the FDNY and NYPD. He stood right next to me during most of the ceremony. After the ceremony we talked about Coos Bay. He introduced me to his older daughter that was with him who was (I swear) from Idaho. This is giving me the chills. My heart goes out to his family.

May God Welcome them Home and comfort their family and friends.
Last Tursday (Thanksgiving) I was on a 47' Coast Guard boat that
picked up on of the fathers of the firefighters.
He is a merchant seaman who was on a tow barge only making about 5 knots.
We met the tow barge 25 miles offshore and brought him in the rest of the way.
The scene at dockside, with he and the mother reunited was heartbreaking.
Know that the entire community is doing everything to pay tribute to these 3 fallen Brothers.
Between the 3 of them they left 311 children,
Alll local food stores are taking donations for food etc.

When I am called to duty,

God Wherever Flames may rage,

Give me the strength to save some life

Whatever Be its age,

Help me embrace a little child Before it is too late,

Or save an older person from The horror of that fate,

Enable me to be alert and Hear the weakest shout,

And quickly and efficiently To put the fire out,

I want to fill my calling and To give the best in me,

To guard my every neighbor And protect their property,

And if according to your will I have to lose my life,

Please bless with your protecting hands,

My children and my wife.

Sadly, I answer: KMG 365

There is no greater love than that a man lay his life down for his friends.
