Midriff baring songbird Shania Twain is singing a shocking tune: She doesn't care if she ever performs again.
The 37 year old country singer's new album 'Up' has soared to Number 1 on the U.S. charts, but Twain hinted to Time Magazine that she will soon stop performing.
'I never burned to perform and I don't care if I ever do again,' Twain said. Twain-whose 1997 album 'Come on Over' sold an astounding 19 million copies and is the best selling album by a female singer in U.S. history-has been called 'the world's highest-paid lap dancer' by country rebel Steve Earle.
She has been in seclusion with her Svengali hubby, Mutt Lange, in Switzerland the past two years.

Ah, the old Garth Brooks trick. Release a new album, and announce a retirement before your concert tour starts.
To: ewing
Sounds like she may be coming down with a case of "Garth-itis". Or "Jordan-aires" disease.

Oh, it's older than Garth Brooks! Frank Sinatra retired a half dozen times!

Pics please.

She's a studio creation of Mutt Lange anyway, so performing live was secondary in the first place!

You can't have a comeback tour if you don't retire first. Its best to start the process while you're still young. (No knock on Shania intended here).

We can only hope.

So that's what she means by "I'll Getcha Good..."
To: Freemyland
Didn't Garth release that album as someone else and then retired?

Can I offer my personal 'retirement' home? A spread with a few acres.... Just try to help her adjustment.

Shania also became a mother about a year and a half ago and she probably wants to spend as much time with her child as possible. I know that if I was in a happy marriage with a beautiful child, I'd want my wife to not have to work if she didn't want to work. I enjoy Shania's music and her videos, but if she wants to be a mommy, more power to her!

Does she even sing live?
Her records are so overly produced with studio electronic computers over her voice Its hard to tell..

She's a studio creation of Mutt Lange anyway, so performing live was secondary in the first place! I thought so too until I saw her perform live, she was really very good...very entertaining and verrry beautiful. That said, I really wouldn't care if I never heard another of her songs on radio. Her or Faith Hill...give me Leann Womack, Patty Loveless or an old Patsy Cline tune any time.

Huh? Did you start this thread about a totally insignificant event so you can demonstrate to everyone in the world your low opinion of some pop singer?
