Lewis Planning to Fight Tyson Again

LONDON (Reuters) - Lennox Lewis is planning a three-fight sequence from next March including a rematch with Mike Tyson, the world heavyweight champion said Sunday.

"I want my fans to know that I am intending to defend my WBC title against Vitali Klitschko on March 8, 2003," Lewis said in a statement running on the BBC Web site.

"My negotiating team has a preliminary agreement in place for that fight, as well as fights against Mike Tyson and Wladimir Klitschko in the event that I decide to continue fighting after the Vitali Klitschko fight," the statement added.

"I expect the contract for the Vitali Klitschko fight will be finalized in meetings that will be scheduled during the week of December 9."

It had been thought that Britain's 37-year-old WBC heavyweight champion could quit the sport after comprehensively beating Tyson in the eighth round in June in Memphis.

Lewis will take on Ukrainian Klitschko in March, then give Tyson a rematch and finally face Klitschko's brother Wladimir, the WBO title holder, the BBC said.

Meanwhile, American Tyson is scheduled to return to the ring for the first time since his defeat by Lewis when he fights Clifford Etienne, also in Memphis, on February 22.

Etienne has a record of 24 wins (17 knockouts), one defeat and one draw. His last fight was a 10-round draw with aging South Africa Francois Botha in July.

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

Is it Ann Lewis?

Would Barney allow this?

As much as I dislike Iron Mike, I'd pay a dollar to see him get one good lick on Ann's perpetually pasty face.

I think he have a tuff first fight. I believe the dude only has one loss due to heat (Was winning on the cards.). In his last fight he knock out that one dude who fought Lewis and Holyfield in the middle 90's and likely beat them both expect on the scorecards (Rodirk?). It was the dude who was known for not getting knock down.

I think Lewis has to fight Tyson as part of a contract he signed in the first fight.

Wladimir Klitschko is freaking awesome though, I'll take him over Lewis two-to-one. He's fighting on HBO this Saturday against huge American Jameel Mccline, definitely worth checking out for all you freeper boxing and even non-boxing fans.

His older brother Vitali ain't nothing special in my estimation but still has a puncher's chance against Lewis.

Wladimir

Vitali rearanging Larry Donald's face this weekend :)

Lewis will get what for this...ten million? twenty million? We could all use that. Seems worth the trouble to deliver another butt-whipping to The Thug. I doubt I'll even watch.

Lewis is stuck fighting Tyson after Vitali, according to the contract they signed to get the first fight done. If Tyson had won, Lewis would get an immediate rematch. Since Lewis won, the contract allows one other fight before the Tyson rematch. Of course, you don't HAVE to spend any money on Lewis-Tyson II. I know I won't.

Not one thin dime.... This is gonna be one heckuva dog to promote. Tyson better get his creative juices flowing and figure out where, when, and what he needs to bite on Lewis to create some "buzz" about this sham....

Klitschko looks okay. He's the #2 or #3 heavyweight now. He lost a fight by KO a couple of years back, but is 39-1 with 36 KO's himself (all KO's inside 8 rounds).

Can he beat Lewis? He hasn't fought anyone worth mentioning so my money will be on Lennox.

KO in 9....
