Narrow Minded Zealots

The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is home to some 350,000 people who live and work in the 23 counties that comprise the ecosystem. A very small but vocal and well funded group of this population (the Eco-Tally-Ban) is not happy we are utilizing our area's abundant natural resources to make our living and want us to stop.

Ranching, farming, logging, forest recreation, residential construction and tourist facilitation is the target of these green activists that have deemed us trespassers in the land of the animal and tree.

Human nature provides a mental mechanism (guilt) that sometimes retroactively provides a knee jerk reaction from perceived wrong doings. There are people all over America who believe they have fouled their nest and knee jerk compulsion demands reaction that doesn't effect their community and pocketbook but does harbor a rationalization of redemption. It is these people that fund the few altruistic but egocentric Eco-Tally-Ban hell bent on ruining the economy of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem by putting what they perceive as offenders of nature out of business and out of jobs.

Altruism is a wonderful thing if not perverted into a destructive weapon by narrow minded zealots that are more concerned by their perceptions and feelings than by facts. Junk science, lies and alarmist Chicken Little tactics are the weapons of the Eco-Tally-Ban and a misinformed and duped populace is their co-conspirators and constituency.

Zealots lacking human empathy who are over funded by a guilt ridden, misinformed, and gullible populace creates a dynamic that facilitates a tyranny of the absent and ignorant.

We have been surviving off the land and the people that visit it since the 1890's, if we wish to continue to do so we must stand together and address the allegations of the environmental propagandists that hope to put an end to our way of life. It will be an up hill battle because mundane facts don’t incite excitement and fervor as does the alarmist inflammatory hyperbole of the environmental left but with the facts on our side we can prevail if we stand together united.

Now wait a minute! I got the idea from being passed by a van a couple of years ago on I-5 southbound when Oregon was to play a southern CA team. They had a banner in the back window that said "GREEN GANG!"

Immediately, knowing what the town of Eugene had turned into with all the liberals and eco-nazis, I turned it around and told Mrs. Wasp... "Look! Oregon has GANG-GREEN!"

She said, "Why, has part of their anatomy fallen off on the freeway?" I said, "No! Look at that sign in their back window!" She said, "What? GREEN GANG?" I said, "Almost... turn it around!" She said, "What? Are you becoming dyslexic?" I said, "No, but it sure fits and if it fits, you must convict!"

How about Endangered Rural Americans Preservation Society?

We have to borrow words and phrases from the enviral nazis and then pound them with those words and phrases until they become our mantras.

What? You think we should become reformed ranters? It's a little late for that, don't you think, Grampa?

I suppose now you want to establish the "Ranters & Ravers Reformation Society," right? (grin)

Well put Daryl! Hell, what good are facts and empirical evidence when mother earth is on the line? And the icing, they've admitted that they will skew the evidence when in their best interest to do so.
