It's an Strela-2M (SA-7 GRAIL) could be a "A" or "B" variant as that is not distinguisable other than the rocket booster mods. It works as a "chase " surface to air weapon. IMHO these POS killers fired at the aircraft as it approached them or was directly overhead at too shallow of a shoot window (takeoff altitude at the airport) versus shooting at it as it departed from them at proper range...... thus the missle missed per se.

If ya know how an old redeye works then this is the same sort of method this would have been fired.

Thankfully it was in the hands of an idiot who thought point and shoot was the only skill s/he needed...............(Archy check my data please) !
