Sure, if you call a guy pissing on the tires of your parked car payback. This happens a few times a week, I'd say something to him but my Spanglish is limited to a few cuss words.

In that situation, a cuss-word would be appopriate. I would favor either "pendejo" or "werwone". I'm not sure the spelling of either, but I can pronounce them.

We have native-borns who do that kind of thing as well, you know. It isn't a phenomenon that is limited to Mexicans.

Let me ask you this: How much are you willing to pay for a head of lettuce? For a basket of strawberries? Would you or your kids be willing to go pick either?

There are socio-economic issues involved here -- several tons of them. They are the issue. The fact that the people who work near you are Mexicans -- and presumably illeagl immigrants -- doesn't count for anything.

They may piss on your tires from time to time. I've seen far worse from Anglos.

We should not treat them badly. There but for the grace of God go we. Every time you go to your local market, go look at the produce counter and thank them for the work they do.

This is a big myth. Companies do not hire cheaper workers, then slash prices. Sorry to say, but companies are not out there making sure they get you the lowest price possible. They are concerned with profit, so they lower the price for labor and keep the difference. I see no difference in the price for food, do you? Everything still costs the same, but farmers are now able to use cheap labor instead of being creative and coming up with some sort of invention like the cotton gin. You think this is good for America? One of the things that really bothers me about all this is the cultural impact. We seem to be saying that we are above doing physical labor. I can think of few things in life that better taught me the value of money and a hard day's work than physical labor. Not only are you denying that kind of experience to our youngsters, you are also blacklabling it as something only 'Mexicans' do.

We should not treat them badly.

I think people like you who exploit them by bragging you pay them less than what an American could make in the same job and who don't pay into Social Security and Workmans' Comp for them are treating them badly. Sure they're browner and can be exploited, sure they work like dogs for low money but is that really the right approach? I don't hire illegals but I'm sure I know more illegals than you do. What I'd rather see is our government start demanding their corrupt government make the needed social and cultural changes that are long overdue. I think it's terrible that one nation allows it's people to be used like slaves.

"How much would you pay for a head of lettuce".....funny you should mention that....How about the hidden "costs" these illegals are costing the tax payers of this country.

Things like "free" medical care for them, which I'm already paying for through taxes.

how about "free" schooling for them which I'm paying for through higher taxes.

How about the cost of incarceration of these illegals in our prisons, which I'm paying for through higher taxes.

You see, my lettuce actually costs triple what the price that is on the plastic wrap.

I'd rather pay 4.00 per head of lettuce and have no illegals in our country. That way, at least I'd have a choice as to where my hard earned money is spent.

I would rather the local kids who are graduating from trade high-schools get these jobs in their chosen trades (HVAC, Auto-Body repair, Sheetmetal, heating / plumbing, construction), than illegal trespassers. It's not fair to these kids that have to go into a job market saturated with illegal trespassers willing to work for less than minimum wages. How about the loss of tax revenue here?
