If this is so true ---then why does Mexico look the way it does? They don't even deny they have huge amounts of corruption ---or is that somehow a Republican trait? Conservative, honest, responsible, educated, taxpaying, good voters, hard-working type people tend to have countries that reflect these values.

I don't know how much you know about Mexican immigrants. I would guess it isn't much.

I used to live in the Salinas Valley in California. I know a lot about them.

It would not be unusual for me to get up on a Sunday and drive my wife and kids down for breakfast on Cannery Row. There's a place down there that has a good buffet. I could have a Ramos Fiz. Or maybe two. Watch the otters, and the yuppies in their kayaks.

On the way to the restaurant, we would pass Mexicans who were out picking lettuce or other crops. Strawberries maybe.

I don't think you know anything ---I suggest you take a close look at Ciudad Juarez ---I have. I know what their illegimacy rate and crime rate is actually like. You claim that they are all these great people but you ignore the Mexican drug cartels and drug lords. You ignore that 25% of our SW prison population is from a particular country. You ignore the free use of our hospitals and schools. If they were really so responsible then they'd be paying tuition instead of expecting things handed to them for nothing. There might be a few who actually do file IRS statements, pay their hospital bills, and pay tuition when they bring their kids to American schools ---but it's not the majority by a long shot.

Of course I have ---I did it all the way from 11 years of age until I got out of high school. It isn't all that hard....you take your hands and put them around the fruit you're about to pick and pull....and then into the bucket tied around your waist. Not too hard. Lots of people have done farm work.

Gee, Harry, I guess if I had a Ramos Fiz and watched "otters and yuppies in their Kayaks" I'd be able to claim to be an immigration expert, also.

And you are an a-hole. So enough with the simplistic name calling. Mexicans are doing these jobs because they have driven the wages so low that no American can afford to do them. I was in Wash. state last month and the area I was in all the menial jobs were done by Americans. So much for your theory of no one else being willing to do them. And I doubt if you are smart enough to pick strawberries. That you Dean?
