Before heading to Crawford, Texas for the holiday, President Bush signed the 911-commission bill, which will allow an investigation into the 911 attacks, and help identify ways to avoid future attacks. Bush appointed Henry Kissinger commission chairman. The President joined First Lady Laura and their two daughters in Texas this evening. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Love those Boots, Luis.

Thanks for the Dose Rintense. Cute pictures. I hope our W gets some good down time with all his family.

I'm watching the Paul McCartney special on ABC - 9pm EST. He's still got it. After almost 40 years I still love Paul. LOL

We've had so many blessings this year. There is so much to be grateful for - not least of which is our great President. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Remember, those who are not used to snow and ice follow the following mantra (thanks to local media)...

Attention all residents. You're needed at the local grocery store. We're threatening ice and snow, and you must stock up for the non-event! Come at once.

You know HSV very well, don't you? That is so funny since the snow we get is usually gone in a few days. I do remember once when we got snow that lasted a number of days. One of Jan's girlfriends was staying at our house and they were stuck here. She lived miles from us so we had another daughter for a few days! People on Monte Sano were without power for nearly a week. Those with gas heat and stoves made it ok but the others had to make do!

Alas I live at the other end of the state and when there is a threat of ice and or snow everyone and their grandmother runs for the nearest grocery store for supplies they don't need (like chips and soft drinks and beer.)
Heck, even the likelyhood of cold weather drives the locals crazy and migrate like lemmings to the store.

I'd watch out for them, for blocking them is dangerous.

My husband is convinced that the weather reports are secretly funded by the grocery stores! LOL!

Here it is milk and bread! Sometimes, the stores sell out of those 2 items. That year that I mentioned in the other post when we were stuck at home, a friend of my husband's, came over and they went to the store on his ATV. That was about the only way to get out since we have hills that get very dangerous when it has snow or ice on them. Hubby had a snowmobile suit so he was quite comfortable.

I am EXTREMELY thankful that OUR young man in uniform is home this Thanksgiving!!

My prayers go out for all those men and women who are serving their country, and risking life and well-being for our freedom over this Holiday season.

Shhhh.
Don't tell anyone.

Didn't you know that Warren Buffett has bought into the stocks of wal-mart and safeway (along with a few others) and buys advertising time disguised as weather reports (also known as the Weather Channel). It was reported in last month's Kiplingers. That's how he keeps the margins up during the winter time.

Here it is jug water (?) and the junk crap. All of the real food stays on the shelves.

About 8 years ago, when an ice storm hit here on the belt buckle, I was a resident of the local university. All around us (and 75% of the city) were out of power, due to power lines being down. The great thing was..... us on-campus dorm residents had power and hot water and everyone else surrounding this one little block was out for a week! The funny thing was that my mother and former SF had to come to campus for hot showers and some of my cooking.
