Secretary-General Kofi Anan announced Why is it that it takes a Security council vote to impose the sanctions, but only a single voice to lift them?
To: jonatron
That's not his decision to make. Arrogant jerk.

In the communist, dictator protection society world, the title "Secretary General" means -- top boss "I don't need no stinking badge" -- dictator.

I don't think they will find anything. I heard many of these inspectors are of Arab descent. Is this true?

A Kofi Anus authored scam is in the making.

Does Abu Annan kiss up to the lips of terrorists and murderers of children and Americans?

I do fear that the fix is in. That Blix is no more interested in finding WMD than is Dave Bonior.

Are these weapons inspections really being taken seriously? If the UN continues its attempts to dispell how serious of a thret SH is to the US and its' intrests the UN is essentially condoning terrorism against the US et al. Since the UN has already caved to SH's demand to disallow CIA intel or US satalite immage info into the weapons inspection process, isn't it obvious that if Mr. Bush is serious about protecting the US from Muslum terrorists he will be left no choice but to dispell the UN. We all know that talk can be cheap. I have faith that Mr. Bush is a man of his word but, if for what ever reason SH is left standing, my guess is that Mr. Bush will be political toast.

Another "tempest in a teapot", eh?
This activity has the odor(stench)of one helluva charade.

They won't find anything, cause I saw an expert on T.V. today, who is involved in the U.S. in making the equiptment for detecting radiation etc. and said that it is well known & that the iraqis would have knowledge of it & that there are many ways of blocking the equiptment from finding things. He also said it's a constant battle to keep ahead of them. So I would say even our best & newest isn't going to find a thing. Saddam has it all shielded!

Enough of the "Daschle" anthrax to wipe out the urban population of the United States would fit in the trunk of a car (e.g. Mohammed Atta's cross-country rental car). The weapons inspections mean nothing. It's a play for time, that's all.

Ol Saddam will have survived both Bush Sr. and Jr. Who would a thunk it. And Israel will be toast also. Whoever is pulling the strings behind the scene sure knows their stuff.

Average UN employee makes $117,000 per year plus $17,000 per child for education. Heard this today, is it true?

Only
if WMD are actually FOUND... should sanctions eventually be lifted.
If WMD are found, they can be removed and/or destroyed.
In the case where WMD are NOT found, then war should be assured. In this scenario, where they are NOT found, we deduce they are being hidden. War wages then to remove them.
What a topsy-turvy world we live in... sheesh! Where black is white and white is black.

Now, we all know how the U.N. ignored the reports that Iraq had chem weapons in '91. We all know how the U.N. ignored the fact that Iraq sanitized the sites before the inspectors walked through. (Obviously sanitized the sites.)
We all know how certain nationals among the inspectors ignored items that were questionable due to political reasons.]
So why the he[[ are we even bothering with the U.N.?

Does anyone doubt that Anan will carry through with this stupid statement?? Hans Blix couldn't find his ass with both hands. Come on, President Bush...let's rev up those engines!!!
