Hope you think about moving to Texas also Meek, follow your friends here. Tell her to forget Arlington, it is a cesspool of gangs and very bad schools. Bedford is still pretty small town, she might want to look at Colleyville, South Lake, Mansfield, those areas are nice, good schools.

Dallas school district is a shambles, a total shambles, stay away from it. Plano has more suicides of teens than any where else in the nation. There are islands of sanity still left here, she just has to be real careful where she sets down roots.

That was in the 80's, and has now been surpassed by another suburb. Plano does have the stigma of the most teenage heroin overdoses in the 90's, though.

Actually I live in far NE Dallas county, but in re-reading my post that's not clear.

I lived in Arlington back in the 70s and early 80s when I attended UT Arlington. I lived on campus and I liked it ok. For getmeouttaPalmBeachCounty_FL's needs, I agree that Arlington might not be suitable.

The teen suicide problem in Plano is due to parental/peer high expectations on their kids for scholastic achievement and some kids can't handle the stress. Well, at least that's what I have decided, anyway, from a few reports I've seen.....
