The sleeze of the service caused the total defeat for the Dumb-O-Insects.

The "Religion" of democRATS is politics, so it was no surprise to those of us who are politically savvy that the Paul Welstone "Memorial Service" turned into a political rally. It probably never even occurred to the democRATS that anybody would find it offensive that they showcased their "Religion" at a memorial service. But to the majority of the people who saw and heard about this atrocity, it was a wake up call as to just how radical the democRATic party has become.

The Dems: the latest in tawdry, slimy, gross, revolting, and bum's rush couture.

"The problem was the labeling,"
Is this the new Democratic mantra? We didn't label this correctly. Our message wasn't heard. If only the people knew!
The people know exactly what you stand for and that's a) stealing their money, b) putting people on welfare, and c) doing anything to get elected.

"The problem was the labeling," said Kathleen Hall Jamieson, dean of the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. "The mistake was in labeling this as a memorial instead of a celebration of the lives of these individuals, which is what it was." The Welfare "service" was deliberaltely mislabeled. If it had been labeled "a celebration of the lives of these individuals," then it would never have been televised nationally because the Republicans would have been within their rights to demand equal time to celebrate the lives of non-Democrat individuals.

Let's just complete that sentence:
"To expect that 15- or 20,000 Wellstone supporters would be quiet as pictures of Trent Lott and others flashed on the screen was too much to expect of Democrats,"

Couldn't possibly have anything to do at all with Democrat policy, now, could it?
It's called DENIAL.

In hindsight, their first mistake may have been holding a memorial service in a big basketball arena.
Under a bank of Jumbotron screens.
Live on C-Span. Bwahahahahahahahah!!!!!

This McAuliffe-arranged "memorial" rally shamelessly failed to even name the two pilots who died in the accident. Yet I believe this event was just another nail in the democratic coffin. We have to give Clinton's lack of morals and attention to national security the proper credit.

overall 68 percent of voters had heard about the service. Gosh, only 68 percent knew about the service, I guess the remaining 32 percent voted for Buchanan.

No, their first mistake was being a bunch of self-serving, power hungry, mendacious, immoral low-lifes in the first place.
Their second mistake was letting the public find out about it.

I love the fact that they are still making excuses for that disgraceful event. Hopefully, they will continue to do similar things.

"-Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source familiar with the planning meeting the day after Wellstone died said the small group considered holding the service in a more somber setting such as a cathedral. But that idea was rejected for a variety of reasons.
One reason was that the senator was Jewish."
Now that's funny!
Hey why let an insignificant detail like the man's faith keep you from booking a cathedral. Maybe they couldn't decide which Christian denomination to select in order to get the most votes.

Mark Penn, who conducts polls for former President Clinton ...Notice the use of present, not past, tense.
In other words, Slick Willie still has a pollster on staff to do his thinking for him.

"We are begging you to help us win this election for Paul Wellstone," he told the crowd. "We can redeem the sacrifice of his life if you help us win this election for Paul Wellstone." Kahn also singled out some Republican lawmakers in the crowd to ask them to honor Wellstone by supporting a Democrat for his seat. Only a soulless speck of a "man" could get on stage and say something like that. Disgusting.

Live on C-Span. National analysis of this event keeps minimizing this broadcast, because outside of Minnesota it was only on C-Span.
Within Minnesota, every single network save Fox blocked out all of primetime to cover this event. ABC, NBC, CBS, even UPN carried this thing for the entire 3 1/2 hours. Unless viewers had cable, this almost literally took over their television "Big Brother" fashion. That made quite a statement.
To: Snuffington
Its like they had to use Wellstone to make a political statement. Normal decency and consideration for the dearly departed was a matter that couldn't wait. And they have to analyze what happened?? They still don't get what turned the country off.
To: goldstategop
They still don't get what turned the country off. Yeah, over-the-top crap like this worked just fine during the Clinton years ... at keeping Clinton in power as the rest of the party eroded away. As long as the Dems pine for the Clinton years, they'll be stuck in neutral as the GOP increases its lead.

"The mistake was in labeling this as a memorial instead of a celebration of the lives of these individuals, which is what it was." That sh!t ain't gonna fly, either. This was not a memorial, and it was not a "celebration of the lives of these individuals," -- it was a freakin' campaign rally.
