Mr. Cannell said Arizona legislators will likely take up the issue of vigilante groups during the state's next legislative session. The Democrat said he was "strongly opposed" to the groups.

So, then....the govt won't take effective action to stop illegals, but they want to stop those that want to stop it? Democrats trolling for Democrat votes again?.....

Don't get me wrong, folks. I've never advocated vigilant groups, most especially violence. It just seems two-faced of our government to not take proper action on illegal immigration but to threaten legal citizens for trying to stop it.

New Mexico state Sen. Mary Jane Garcia said vigilante groups appeal to undereducated young men who feel that state and federal governments haven't done enough to protect towns along the border.

These legislators are either grossly ignorant of the Reconquista movement, or are guilty of supporting it.

Mr. Cannell is my representative, in his case he is not worried about votes, he doesn't have to be, he is well known in the area, and very popular, he will be re-elected until he is term limited. In some areas he is very uninformed, many times his opinions are emotion based, this seems to be one of those times. He is educatable in some areas, but I don't think this is one of them.

"...American vigilante groups..."
"The fringe groups..."
"...have taken matters into their own hands..."
"...the issue of vigilante groups..."
"... vigilante groups appeal to undereducated young men who feel..."

Can you say; "Demonization"? I knew you could.

The willful fractionalisation of this country continues and marginalisation of 'young undereducated white males' who belong to groups like 'militias' and 'vigilante groups' who believe in Constitutional rights such as the (gasp) 2nd Ammendment and (wretch) property rights and all those other selfish individual 'rights' that our rich, racist, white Founding Fathers put in the Bill of Rights.

Gee, I am a lifelong Republican when I wasn't voting for Pat Buchanan and I am "strongly opposed to those groups too. I thought the Klan had died out.

I am not in favor of "vigilante justice".
If these people were vigilantes, I would be against them.

Their not vigilantes!

The various law enforcement groups that should be doing the job are not.

These groups are protecting their land, their families, and their countries.

Leave it to the traitors to be against them.

How very charming that another DEMOCRAT is concerned with illegal aliens and not with the US Citizens they are elected to represent and protect. Michael Savage is right:
Liberalism is a Mental Illness!

Any legislator who tries to ban Americans from patrolling their own land against illegal invasion is a traitor.

Real Americans are strongly opposed to you, Cannell.

More than 75 women have been raped and killed since 1993 in Ciudad Juarez, the border's largest city. Dozens of suspects have been arrested, but bodies have continued to turn up in the desert.

Mr. Castro Lopez said that Mexican state and federal commissions assigned to investigate the crimes have failed to produce any concrete leads

So, the American government won't stop the messican trash from illegally entering America and will stop Americans from protecting themselves and America.

I'm sorry, but this administration, including Colin Powell (a joke on all issues), have no credibility and are a joke on this issue. The words (and lack of) on top of the deeds (and lack of) of this administration are encouraging this criminal behavior by messicans, in conjunction with the out-and-out encouragement and support of the messican government.

Pretty *pathetic*.

Yes, But its mostly a financial issue. Get ready for a shake down. More money and less to show for it. Maybe if they try comming here by legal means they wouldn't have to worry about it and just maybe if these were not criminals Americans would not have to form vigilante groupes.

Letter from the president: "As my Administration seeks to improve the system that welcomes legal immigrants, The United States must also continue its efforts to combat illegal immigration." It goes on to mention adding more border agents and strenghtening laws.

If the states want to get together and try and stop them, the militias just may start shooting to kill and not bothering with letting the goverment know about the immigrants.

If our government refuses to protect us from the invasion by the enemy crossing our borders, then we have no choice but to protect ourselves.
