President Bush ended his European trip today with speeches in Lithuania and Romania. Bush was greeted in both places with large crowds of people, including estimates in Romania of 50,000 plus. And in what can only be called an emotional and uplifting moment, the crowds in Romania were treated to a rainbow as the President spoke. Bush responded with 'God is smiling on us.' The First Couple arrived back in Washington late this evening. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Can't believe you are actually at this once again-and on Sunday! Thank you so much. This thread kinda does me in....I have such a dang welling up of pride and happiness, thinking of those beautiful Romanian faces, lighted up with sheer joy and making our President feel so welcomed and honored. (But hey-don't ever stop!).
I guess the photo of the rainbow-if there even is one-isn't out there. I would have loved to see this.
I think our President is going to wear our tie. I am waiting, and just know at some point, he is going to don it. When he does-it is going to be for the men and women on this thread-'who GET it!'

In the 2004 election campaign, I would like to see an old pic of the show "Truth or Consequences" with three Al Gore's as the contestants with a caption that reads "Will the real Al Gore plaese stand up"
Lawgirl:
OH Registered......MJY has a great idea--are you up to it? :-D
DITTO that and then some! OUCH! hehe

This is what it looks like tonight in West Michigan...
Notice the sign that STILL remains in my garden...
And here's my still skunk-smelling girl peeing in the snow.

I don't think my post was clear regarding the point about -W-. What he has done on nearly every trip has been either a diplomatic success or coup, a political success or coup, or a military success or coup. It's not routine per se, but the press (no surprise) has downplayed the significance of these events. On the otherhand, because -W- IS Presidential in his conduct and behavior, we (as a nation and it's people) are not only comfortable by -W-'s behavior, we have come to expect it. I know I'm preaching to the choir, and I didn't think you missed the point, I just wanted to be sure and clarify.
I especially want to clarify that in no way was I remotely comparing -W-'s trips to the perps countless and useless trips around the globe. The perp was building frequent flyer miles on the backs of the taxpayers. From the miserable display of selfishness in holding up commercial traffic in LA so that a haircut could be administered, to the continuous trips (you know it's coming) abroad (pun intended) with predictable diminishing returns to show for it. Usually a trip overseas by the perp meant that, the US of A was about to pay for something, and pay big, thanks to the nonstop legend and reputation building of the slick meister. AAARRRGGGHHH !

Actually it was reported long time ago tht GHWB and Rumsfeld did not like each other but that GHWB knew that Rumsfeld was the right choice and therefore he suggested the name. I don't know where I read it but it was said about the time of the pick of Rumsfeld. It was a comment about how GHWB did not hold grudges when it came time to back those whom he thought were good for the country.

You know, sometimes after a long run in the cold, the leader of the free world just has to pee in the bushes.

Yes- good point. Look at the results of -W-'s latest trips overseas. I will address just a couple of the significant accomplishments in the news lately involving -W-, that pertain to the immediate concerns of our nation, re: national security.
-W- got a 15-0 vote in the Security Council, authorizing inspections of Iraq and demanding compliance, which if absent, will result in swift punitive action.
The entry of the most recent inductees into NATO is historical.
A NATO member with a shared border with Russia, and now a strategic partner of the US of A. The implications are enormous and it showed on Putin's face in many of the photo ops.
NATO on board with the US of A, in coalition building. Message to the UN, pound salt.
Speaking of the UN, the trip to NYC was on our soil but in a sense it was "wordly" in the nature of the visit. Presidential checkmate. Act or we will.
-W- continues to shine as he goes about conducting the business of our nation, on these overseas junkets. As rightly observed, -W- cuts to the chase, puts it on the line, makes the rounds, and then gets his butt back home.

It certainly is nice to see a woman with class return to the White House.

Hunk a hunk a burning love ALERT:
Top picture, far left edge of image- "Steve or Mike" working the beat. This public service announcement brought to you by a straight Bush buck. LOL. Just trying to do my part mamm. (miss ? lol)
Great pictures. Foreign soil, huge crowds, pouring rain. Historical. The shackles of communism are lifted. Huge symbolism. Supreme capitalist leader addresses nation.
Prediction: Putin diagnosed with ulcer.
