U. S. Political Party Platforms; Democrat Party and Communist Party USA the Same?

DIRECTORY OF U.S. POLITICAL PARTIES

The Communist Party of the USA

The CPUSA, once the slavish propaganda tool and spy network for the Soviet Central Committee, has experienced a forced transformation in recent years. Highly classified Soviet Politburo records, made public after the fall of Soviet communism, revealed that the Communist Party of the Soviet Union illegally funneled millions of dollars to the CPUSA to finance its activities from the 1920s to the 1980s. The flow of Soviet dollars to the CPUSA came to an abrupt halt when the communists were ousted from power there in 1991...

...As for issues, the CPUSA calls for free universal health care, elimination of the federal income tax on people earning under $60,000 a year, free college education, drastic cuts in military spending, "massive" public works programs, the outlawing of "scabs and union busting," abolition of corporate monopolies, public ownership of energy and basic industries, huge tax hikes for corporations and the wealthy, and various other programs designed to "beat the power of the capitalist class ... [and promote] anti-imperialist freedom struggles around the world." The CPUSA's underlying communist ideology hasn't changed much over the years...

Explain to me again how the issues that Daschle and Pelosi are pushing for are any different from the traditional Communist Party platform?

I see no difference.

Here is a great site to read all the old political party platforms. It's very interesting to read old Democrat Party platforms from the 19th Century. It is not the same party today. The present day Democrats seem to have morphed into the old Communist Party USA (see my post above).

And whatever happened to the Whigs?

I pointed this out to one of my liberal neighbors, handing her side-by-side print-outs of the two platforms, complete with website URLs. It was more than she could bear. No longer speaks to me (I'm heartbroken).

What's the big secret here? Everyone knows who the Communist part is in America. Just ask California.

Many years ago I described myself as a Democrat for reasons unknown. Probably because my family believed in the Democrats and because I was pretty much apolitical in my younger years.

Somewhere along the way, I began to realize that the Democratic Party is very much like the Communist Party. Both foster a culture of dependency on big government and both attempt to destroy individual initiative and freedom of thought.

One of the sad things about this is that most of the common people who embrace the Democrats (and this probably includes your neighbor) are not really ideological Communists or Democrats but are, in reality, just camp followers. They believe that these two systems can deliver to them the largess provided by those who are productive with very little effort on their part. Once this belief becomes ingrained, individual initiative and freedom of thought are forever destroyed for these people. There may be some cases of a person recovering from this illness of the soul but I think that such a recovery is extremely rare.

I remember during the 2000 elections, the CPUSA told its members to vote for democRATS because there were no substantial differences between the two parties. Talk radio discussed this, but the major media outlets completely ignored the story (as if that would suprise anybody).

NRA-ILA:

LOUISIANA SPECIAL ELECTION

While the winners of almost every race across the nation were decided on November 5, 2002, or soon thereafter, some are still up in the air. In fact, because of Louisiana’s election laws, any race in which a candidate does not receive a majority (50%+1) of the vote must be decided by a run-off between the top two vote recipients. Because no candidate received a majority in the race for U.S. Senate, every eligible voter in Louisiana will have an opportunity to cast his vote on December 7 in this important race. However, please keep in mind that December 7 is also Opening Day of Duck Season in Louisiana’s West Zone and Opening Day of Deer Season statewide. Therefore, every hunter must make sure his voice is heard by early or absentee voting or by voting at the polls on December 7.

IIRC, the Whigs arose originally in response to Andrew Jackson. (In England, the faction in opposition to the king was the "Whigs", in the U.S., the American Whigs were opposed to "King" Andrew Jackson). They stood for, among other things, "the Union". But as the Civil War neared, the partied splintered, ironically enough, along geographic lines. The southern Whigs jumped to the Democrats, while the northern Whigs found homes in the Free Soil Party or the fledgling Republican Party.

The Republican Party can trace its genealogy to the Whigs, and before that, the Federalist Party.

"...but I think that such a recovery is extremely rare."

Yes, and only after they've gotten "mugged," for example, by preferential hiring/contracting/admissions.

Remember the part in Radical Son where Horowitz asks his dying father why he stayed in communism in spite of knowing how evil it was? And the old man says he stayed with it because otherwise he would have lost every friend he ever had. Pathetic.

I think it was David Corn who was on one of the shows earlier this week and actually said that the peace protests
have been orginized by some communist group.
