It's hard for me to imagine what these freaky policies he mentions would accomplish besides delay any economic recovery by propping up bad investments.

Anent his comments on SOX--about 3 weeks ago you could have purchased IBM for $55./sh. Now it's $84./sh.

That would seem to comport with the muscle suddenly present in SOX...at least for the time being.

If you can put the whole monetary system (free-floating fiat currencies and derivatives engineering) into historical perspective, you can see that this is truly a Grand Experiment!

I received a FDIC Notification because CitiBank bought my local bank. It says that "Separate FDIC Insurance Coverage continues for funds that were formerly held in accounts maintained with CalFed and Citibank (West) until 6 months after that date. (DEC. 13TH, 2002)At the expiration of this period, your accounts formerly with these institutions, as well as new accounts you establish with CitiBank (West) FSB, must be added together for determining your FDIC insurance coverage."

They formerly insured each account to 100K, now they are going to add them together and if the accounts total more.....well, good luck folks 'cause we aren't going to provide the same coverage anymore.

Guess who is going to be changing banks to stay insured the way I feel I need to be.
