Copycat, she is beginning the drive to get rid of the Electoral College.
I also noticed that there were a number of subtle attacks on the Constitution, namely the provision that the Present must be born in the U.S. in the Sundy paper.

It has started, by '04 there will be a full scale assault on the Constitution by the media and democrats [communists].

You are probably right, but it will fail miserably. They can't get their legislation passed through Congress, there's no hope of a Constitutional Amendement with left-wing sentiment actually getting enough votes, and there will be more conservative judges in the near future. Their agenda is going no where -- and if they start sounding like they want to abandon the Constitution they will show themselves to be both powerless and hopelessly out-of-step. That won't help their cause.

Actually, I believe that George Will wrote, last week, that this provision of the Constitution should be changed. I disagree, wholeheartedly.

You are right they will try to create a controversy in 2004. It will fail. THis year they were ready to go the lawsuit route but with the republicans enjoting a 53-47 margin in the congressional vote, they didn't have an opportunity. The economy will pick up and Bush will get 55%+ of the vote. At this point in the Reagan administration things were worse economically than they are now. By 84 the economy had picked up and Reagan swept the election. 2004 will be a repeat of 1984, but the Republicans will control congress going into the election and Bush wil work to expand those majorities.
