Did anyone else see Cap Weinberger on Hannity & Colmes tonite? Wow! I was blown away by the man's ability to incinerate the liberal arguments in just a handful of words.
Don't ask me for quotes -- I hope someone else out there can supply those -- but I think this man is the quickest quip I've ever seen on the conservative side. And how old is he?

I love how he correctly described Carter as an Islamofascist sympathiser. You should've seen the look on Alan Commie's face.

He's a sharp guy who's been relatively quiet (wrote a book?) since the Reagan years, IIRC.
I would imagine he's got some pent up rage at the liberals since their drubbing of him (and their demonizing of Bush 41's pardon for Iran/Contra charges)

I want to say he is 87 but I know for certain he is in his 80s. I just hope I have half his brain cells when I am his age! He has forgotten more than I will ever know. I always stop and listen when he speaks.

Reagan had some great people working for him. That's how to be an effective leader, "hire the best then get out of their way" as Reagan used to say.

I have no chance of seeing this tonight.

I'm so sorry. Tonight I am celebrating a victory over some local viscous democrats and was taken by suprise by Cap's appearance.
Anyone know how to get the transcripts of this show?

hire the best then get out of their way" It is ironic isn't it. Reagan who said you can accomplish a lot if you don't care who gets the credit, sought results and not credit. Now historians are giving Reagan the credit for it all.
While Clinton who desperately wanted all the credit he could get will only get the blame.

and clinton hired the worst of the worst... inexperienced or overtly ambitious slugs who he could manipulate and control....clinton could not afford to hire anyone of stature or honor, such a person would have exposed him. klinton could NEVER stand the challange of wor king alongside someone who would challange him.
So we got Craig Livingstone and janet reno and other unqualified idiots who would willingly trash our rule of law-just like their boss did.

Just so. One requirement was that no clinton appointee should be more capable than his boss. The other was that senior appointees should be felons or have some dark secret to hide, because absolute loyalty to him personally and not to the country was best assured by blackmail.
That's why none of his cabinet ever quit, no matter how badly he treated them.

One of the (many) things that really turns me off about libs is the whole "Maximum Leader" thing. They present their leaders as brilliantly haloed men and women, experts in economics, sociology, resource allocation, law, philosophy...etc. etc. Through this one person's wisdom (Stevenson, JFK, Carter, Clinton, Hillary!) all rights will be wronged, all hurts will be tended, all doubts will be assuaged. Orwell knew this and used it in the creation of Big Brother. It's like they're voting for a savior, not a president.

Yeah, like the ongoing myth about how Al Gore is so intelligent!

Kinda like Stalin and Castro...two icons of the left.

Pol Pot, Lenin, Mao...
They always have all the answers, until someone looks around and realizes that 1/3 of their country's populace is dead.

I won't call the Demos fascists but the type of personality cult you describe is a primary distinguishing feature of fascism. It was also the main feature of Ross Perot's candidacy for President.
Let's just say that these folks have some pronounced fascist tendencies. A little introspection on their part might be good for them and for the country.

I agree with your Maximum Leader thing. Clinton took it to a new level with his, "I feel your pain." Clinton for many Democrats became a substitute god. They thought he actually cared for them individually and could through his leadership and power solve their problems.
