Former Altanta Mayor Manyard Jackson has quietly began speaking to influential Democrats in Washington and elsewhere to measure whether to mount a challenge to current DNC chairman Terry McAuliffe when the DNC's executive board meets in February.
The New York Times reported last week that Jackson who squared off against McAuliffe for control of the DNC in 2001, has sent a letter to McAuliffe demanding a meeting of the DNC board where McAuliffe could explain the Democrats recent defeat.
Jackson had challanged McAuliffe a year ago on the grounds that the Clinton money man was too focused on money, not on building up a grassroots party and paying attention to the Democratic base.

Heck, I hope McAwful stays.
With this guy in there, at least some of the black electorate has begun to realize that Democrats only care about them the week before the election.

Heck, I hope McAwful stays. If he's fired, I'd bet he goes to work as Hillary's personal fundraiser.
To: Guillermo
It would be better to have him gone, I doubt the Mayor has the same fundraising talents.

Did you mail a shirt to Mayor Jackson?

Didn't GWB say early in the war on terrorism that we'd have our enemy fighting themselves as well as us? Which enemy(ies) do you think he was referring to?

And the Atlanta mayor doesn't seems to be a national political figure who will rally millions to the polls..

Could Hillary's leadership position be a compensation for the Clintons' loss of McAwful?
To: ewing
Jackson gets to say "I told you so" to the Clintons....for what it's worth. Whenever will these black leaders in the Dem party learn that the white libs only want them for their votes on election day?

I saw poor Terry on the news networks still drinking the Kool Aid saying that the Dims had control of Governorships comprising 51% percent of the population in the U.S.
What he didn't mention is that California is like 15% of that total.

The rest of the article stated that while yes, he was very adept at fundraising, he virtually ignored grass roots.
Grass roots beats out money, almost every time. Look at the races in GA.

Look at the races in GA. Did I read Barnes spent five times as much as Perdue in ads?
To: aristeides
Interesting idea, is it coindental that Hillary gets a Senate Chairmanship on the Steering Committee after languishing over 1+ years in the chamber (LOL!) and then we find out Terry is under the gun?

LET'S ROLL!
To: aristeides
Barnes spent $20 million and Perdue spent a little over $3 million.
The Senate race was lopsided as well.
Chambliss didn't spend a penny in the primary on TV or radio, yet he cruised to the victory. Why? Grass roots. He has a machine, and they knocked doors, passed out flyers, put up yard signs, and made phone calls.

We've got to stop this madness NOW!
McAwful is the best thing to happen to the GOP since Beezlebubba and the Hildebeast. He might even be their putrid love-child!
That near-vomit feeling of revulsive queasiness we feel when he shows his McAwful face on cable TV news shows is a small price to pay to keep him in power. He is in the process of destroying the Democratic party and forcing it into permanent minority status. We must do what we can to keep this guy in charge of the DNC.
