If you're going to write Anna Quindlen to attack the liberal stance she often takes in her biweekly Newsweek columns, please don't quote Leviticus.
Quindlen, a lifelong practicing Catholic who opposes the death penalty but supports abortion rights, gun control laws and the ordination of women as priests, has received enough hate mail to memorize large chunks of the Bible during three decades as a reporter, Pulitzer-Prize winning columnist and novelist.

QUOTE:
The crowd of 1,000 in the Johnston Hall gymnasium at Moravian College Tuesday night to hear Quindlen found the remark hilarious. The majority of the audience were women, many of whom brought their friends. ''She's just right on the mark politically,'' said Patricia Baratta, a retired nursery school teacher from Bethlehem and the mother of six children. ''What she says makes a world of sense.''

. . . a lifelong practicing Catholic who . . . supports abortion rights . . . If the bishops of the United States have any sense at all, they'll put a stop to this kind of thing. Just one little rule would do the trick.

''I am 50 years old,'' said Quindlen, who wrote for The New York Times from 1977 to 1995. ''I am no longer interested in being acceptable. I am interested in being interesting.''That ain't happening....not then, not now, and not ever, unless she DOES decide to take up bible memorization. The latter is the only truth that will set her free from the liberal lies to which she now clings.

Writer tells Bethlehem, PA crowd at Moravian College she's 'interested in being interesting.'
She grew up believing that the Soviet Union was evil because the news presented it that way.

She's not a Catholic. I am so glad you said that!! And the same goes to any "practicing" Catholic that supports abortion. Catholics venerate the Pope and take his words as the ultimate but disobey him. The woman across the street has a kid that's had three abortions (first one when she was 13). She says that all they have to do is go to confession, take the Host and they are cleansed. Makes no sense to me at all.

Maybe she means that she's still practicing, getting ready to actually try Catholicism, but hasn't started yet.

"Quindlen, a lifelong practicing Catholic who opposes the death penalty but supports abortion rights........."
Thanks for the ping! The above statement is SO incongruous.
Kill the innocent and save the guilty.
The interesting thing about her is how she can undertake the mental gymnastics necessary to validate her beliefs.

Quindlen, a lifelong practicing Catholic who opposes the death penalty but supports abortion rights wrongs, gun control laws and the ordination of women as priests A heretic twice over.

Makes no sense to me at all. There's this little matter of having firm purpose of amendment, which seems to be missing. They aren't being "cleansed" ... they're earning damnation.

The interesting thing about her is how she can undertake the mental gymnastics necessary to validate her beliefs. Liberals are good at that! Even Imus said today that he's against abortion.

A heretic twice over. I will never understand this obsession Democrats have with abortion. Church-going people who don't care one bit about their mortal soul.

You're right. I wasn't thinking!:)
