Police: Teen Admits Decapitating Mom, Family Pets
Woman, Bird, Dog Found Beheaded
Posted: 2:20 p.m. EST November 19, 2002
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- A California teen is in prison after allegedly decapitating his mother and some family pets inside the family's home Monday afternoon.
The San Jose Mercury News reported that the 19-year-old called 911 to confess to the killings. Police say they arrived at the home in San Jose and the teen came out, telling them what he had done in a mixture of English and Spanish.
The woman's body was later found in a bedroom inside.
They said a 38-year-old woman had been beheaded, along with a dog and bird.
The teen was booked on a homicide charge and held in Santa Clara County, Calif., Jail. No bail has been set.
Police confirm the story and said it was a difficult scene to handle.

They said a 38-year-old woman had been beheaded, along with a dog and a bird. "Mistakes were made..."
From California? Sounds like this kid is considering trying to run for Gary Condit's House seat....
At least you can't say the kid isn't trying to get a head....

Probably spanked as a young boy. Not his fault.
If the mom would have survived she would have been arrested.

What has society done wrong? We must invest in the social programs to teach these children that this is wrong. It truly does take a village.
Ok, the liberal rant is done. Someone get a rope!

We shouldn't be too hard on the kid - he no longer has a mother or his family pets.

the teen came out, telling them what he had done in a mixture of English and Spanish. Legal or illegal? What are the odds? Or should I have asked: documented or undocumented?

It a shame he became an orphan yesterday. Unfortunately, he chose to multilate poor defenseless animals. That means we gotta call PETA, and prosecute this kid under
animal hate statutes.
Shall we start an over/under pool? How about 6 months probation for voluntary orphanism, 5 years for oppressing the dog and five years for hating the d*#n bird.

I think he needs a hug and understanding. Then a couple of months of rehab and then re admitted back into society for a second chance. Remember in Kalif. they have 3 strikes. this could be his first (that is if you don't count the bird and the dog). Hold on.....isn't this the DU board?????

Mom, if you're reading this...that pony on my Christmas list would be a swell way of making sure this kind of stuff never happens around there...

"Prison" and "Jail" are not synonymous.
This wordsmith is unfamiliar with his materials.
The teenage perpetrator may be jailed (a detainment) while being held absent bail, but he cannot be imprisoned (a punishment) until he has been convicted.
