[history]
Steelers quarterback Tommy Maddox was released from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center this afternoon, with his doctor saying he has fully recovered from his head and spinal cord injuries.
Despite Maddox's remarkably quick recovery from his scary injury Sunday in Tennessee, he most likely will be sidelined at least a couple of weeks. The Steelers and Maddox's doctor, neurosurgeon Joseph Maroon, say it is entirely up to Maddox when he returns.

I hope Tommy Gun can make it back to the game, I have zero faith in Korky Stewart and his baggage. That Atlanta game was one of the most exciting games I've ever been to and Maddox was just on fire...
HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO!!!

Wow! I never thought I would hear "exciting" "football" and "Atlanta" all in one sentence. Michael Vick has made them worth watching again.

Good to hear.

I am happy to hear this since Ward is on my team. He is having an outstanding season.

Orange & Brown too. Browns Fans hate the Steelers as a team, but it's wonderful to see Maddox came through this OK.
Steelers still suck, though!

Football players definitely deserve their fat paychecks. You obviously haven't been watching the Dallas Cowboys' offense this year. Replacement players would do a better job.

Korky ain't the problem...Cowher, Mularkey and Lewis are. I'm sick and tired of seeing Cowher outcoached week in and week out. Cowher needs to confiscate Mularkey's bag of trick plays, and order Lewis to look up the word blitze in the dictionary and show him it's not prohibited on third and eight or twenty or thirty.
Mularkey think he's the second coming of Sam Wyche with that embarrassing wicky-wacky ticky-tacky- tricky style. Offensive magic act tricksterism and bad defense is not, I repeat NOT, Steeler football.
Lining up and pushing the other team around is. Bring back bully-ball and leave the gimmicks to David Copperfield.
Maddox has been tremendous to watch, and it's been great to see how good our recievers can be when someone can actually throw the ball and hit `em in stride. I hope his recovery is complete.

If I were paralyzed and got it all back (unlike Utley and Byrd) I would not tempt my blessings ever again. Next time it could be permanent....
Kind of like that foxhole prayer: "God, if you get me out of this I will never_______again or will ________from now on."
I think I would go coach footbal or become a trainer or gym teacher or something.

Michael Vick has made them worth watching again. Exciting he is! I just hope he's durable as can be.

I hope Tommy can come back.
Not just for his leadership, we need more two point conversions to counter the field goal attmepts.

I couldn't think of anything worse than to be a Clowns fan...nice comments on Tommy, but do the Browns still play on cinders?

I disagree, but do agree that Bill Jawhead is a lunkhead most of the time...he plays that stupid Marty ball too damn often and let's that worthless sack Gildon on the field instead of Kendrell Bell.
Watch Gildon the next game...he's so awful. I really can't believe that the coaches watch tape and don't fine him or put in Haggans or Bell, he's not very good at anything.

I go to a bar to catch most Steeler games. You're right about Gildon...how he's fallen so far so quickly is amazing.
Porter's been a monster though, and IMHO Bell should not have been on the field until the first Cleveland game.
I still think they're using too many trick plays.

Tommy-Gun could be Dan Marino, for all it matters. If they don't solve the 3rd and long problem and the kicking game, they're going to be watching the playoffs from Sewickley.

3rd down is a f****** nightmare. And Chad Scott is less than useless. Not that Duwayne Washington, Deshea Townsend, Brent Alexander and even Lee Flowers are playing like champs...
