Judge Moore said "there is no court order to remove the monument that this is being reported inaccurately by the media".

Moore knows that Bush has to back him on this or look like a hypocrite. If Bush stays silent or doesn't back him, watch for the Christian Right to stay home next election.

Did either of you watch that crackpot on O'Reily last night ?

Did the crackpot say something about the Ten Commandents offending murderers and thieves?

If they hear it and overturn the decision, that would set the stage for all sorts of new legal challenges.

That's how revolutions begin my friend. They could use it as a warmup for the trashing of that screed Roe v. Wade which should have been an "F" essay from Law School, but instead was made law of the land.

Your going to see more and more of this happening. When the courts come down with these wrong headed decisions people lose respect for the courts and there is little respect left to lose at this point.

I'm glad he told them to go -F- themselves. I hope if they send in some federal marshals to remove it, they are met by a couple hundred heavily armed "good ol' boys". Send em with back to DC with their tails between their legs.

I wonder if a compromise might be in order. Such as having the text of the Commandments on the monument written in the (what I believe) original Hebrew script.

That way your casual passerby would not likely be able to read it and therefore could not make any complaint about being forced into one religious direction or another by the State.

At the time of ratification, many states had religious tests for their leaders... and it wasn't unconstitutional. As a State official, he can be as religious as he wants to be with no Constitutional problem.

You'd have been right up through the passage of the 14th Amendment. Now, you're wrong. Maybe not morally, but legally.

Hey guys, I like this Judge's stance as much as anyone, but the bottom line is that President Bush has to enforce the order if it gets to that point. Didn't we all tell the Dems to shut up and respect the ruling of SCOTUS in Bush v. Gore? We can't follow SCOTUS rulings selectively or the rule of law goes out the window. You have to abide by both the decisions you like and those you do not like. And if push comes to shove, it's Bush job to enforce those orders.

That being said, I think it's gotta go up to at least the level of a Fed. Circuit before we talk about enforcement. I'm sure the judge is appealing the order, and it'll be interesting to see what the court of appeals does with this one.

I'm not sure who the crackpot is that you're referencing. Was the judge on? Was it someone who opposes him?

I saw her Dallas and she really ticked me off!

These folks come to "our" country and then want US to change everything about America that made us the country it is.

If they don't like it here...let them go back to their own country and leave US alone, and if we don't stand up for the folks like Judge Moore we are going to lose all our rights to the PC crowd!

"Why is he right?"

You'll have to go study a little American history if you don't understand......just know, HE IS RIGHT!

This was all quite predictable. The left has been after Moore for quite some time...and he has never backed up from the fight one little bit.

He was elected handily to his position as Chief Justice, and is a hero to all God-fearing Alabamans.

We need thousands more Roy Moores at every level of governance across this land...in fact, raising up that new generation of leaders is the only hope this republic has.

Do we have a government whose moral foundation begins with the 10 commandments...or not? That is the question.
Is the objective to ban worshipping gods other than the Judeo-Christian "God", using said deity's name "in vain", not keeping the "Sabbath" holy (whatever that means) or making "graven images"? The fact is there's a lot of stuff in the Ten Commandments that is absolutely none of the government's business.

I just wished I lived in Alabama. I'd like to make my presence known and organize a "good faith" support rally for the statue. Unfortunately, I live in Kentucky and we have very few "moral" and "ideological" problems. We're definitely behind in terms of the decline of America....which is really a good thing.
