Malaysia state 'cancels' Xmas as Muslims fast
November 18 2002 at 12:42PM
Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia's southernmost state of Johor has ordered its shopping malls to remove all Christmas decorations to give priority to the Muslim celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr next month, a newspaper reported on Monday.
State tourism chairperson Chua Soi Lek slammed shopping mall proprietors for adopting "Western cultures" and said they were overly enthusiastic about Christmas promotions.
"The Johor government is disappointed with a group of shopping complex proprietors who are influenced by Western cultures and neglect the promotion of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations," Chua told the Star newspaper.
He instructed all malls to remove Christmas banners and posters and start "enhancing the Eid-ul-Fitr mood", said the report.
Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated to herald the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which started on November 6.

I am really starting to resent the way the muslim dogs think they can treat the rest of the world. I guess we should start thinking the way Teddy did,"when it comes to expantionism I am for it every time", it is up to us to free the rest of the world from the yoke of oppression. This is a perfect example of why the framers of the constitution chose a represtitive republic over a "democracy". Mob rule is as much tyranny as any dictatorship. Even more important we can see the real reasoning behind the separation of church and state.

Democracy in Malaysia is based on the British model. Actually, Malaysia is more progressive than UK since they do not have a state church - UK has three of them!
They even allow in foreign missionaries -
Now, how to adjust their society so that it is more nearly like ours? First, we could make them celebrate Christmas just like the Japanese. Then, we could ship in a bunch of ACLU lawyers to raise cain about it.
That'd really mess them up when they saw who was on Islam's side, eh?!

Mob rule is especially serious when the majority of the mob is illiterate and incapable of casting a legitimate ballot. Case in point. Florida in 2000.

He instructed all malls to remove Christmas banners and posters and start "enhancing the Eid-ul-Fitr mood", Suggested seasonal merchandise displays might include:
- Latest fashions in suicide bomber vests from Palestine
- Subway cyanide kits from the UK
- Bushmaster rifles and sniper scopes from the US
- Stationery and anthrax sets from Iraq
- All-plastic box cutters (the perfect gift for airline passengers/hijackers)

First, let's stop all the 'Islam is a religion of peace' stuff and rid our country of the ones who clearly have this in mind for our future.

Well, somehow I can't see the British government telling mall owners how to decorate their malls.

Well, considering there Malayasia is in reguard to the Middle East, wouldn't the muslim religon also be part of "the western culture"?

That's part of Islam's secret - it really is a Western religion. From the perspective of the Far East, using a Buddhist filter, Christianity, Judaism and Islam are pretty much the same thing except with a different order of worship and a different selection of stories and verses.

The British government controls mall decorations through the use of zoning and other legal standards.
If you dig down into the various EU Commission rulings, I am sure you will find that malls all over Europe are subject to the control of a bureaucrat in Brussels.

You are right about EEC regulations. They specify every aspect of what can and can't be used in a promotion. It would be far, far, too risky to leave it up to the customer. Bureaucrats rule.
This Malaysian example is an instruction from a governor in one of the states. The state governments in Malaysia are elected, and seem to have more extremists and nutters than the federal body. Every so often, the Malaysian govt has to pull them into line - in recent years over religious extremism. I don't know if this is just a recommendation to the stores, or if it can be in any way enforced.

We would demand that the Government step in a ban them? And if a shopkeeper refused, he would be killed? (This, of course, is what will happen to those who do).

I think you need to adjust your filter there pal. Islam is NOTHING like Christianity and Judaism. It may have 'borrowed' some of the history (not stories) of Judaism and Christianity, but that is where all similarities end. Islam is a religion of hate and death towards the 'infidel' who must be converted to Islam at the point of a sword or die, and worship of the ancient moon god Allah, who is most definitely not the God of the Torah or the Bible. The God of the Bible is a loving God, desiring that none should perish, but that all would come to salvation through faith in the messiah, Jesus Christ.

A question for you - if Allah is some sort of Moon god, then who is the Allah whose name is invoked in the Syrian Orthodox church?
Sure bet it'd be a surprise to all those Christian Orthodox tall hat guys if they knew that one of their number, the Syrian Patriarch, was worshipping a Moon god, eh?!
Amazingly they've been calling God by the name Allah since long before there was an Islam.
BTW, don't go telling me Syrian Orthodox are not Christian.

I know absolutely nothing about the "Syrian Orthodox" church. But I will tell you this - nowhere in the Bible is the name 'Allah' used for God. So where those guys picked it up I have no idea. I do know, however, that it isn't Biblical, so therefore it isn't "Christian" as far as I'm concerned! Millions of other Christians would be of the same opinion.
