[history]
Phil Donahue's days at MSNBC are numbered.
NBC News executives, under pressure from corporate owner General Electric to improve ratings, are likely to cancel his talk show by year's end.
If Donahue gets the ax, it'll be the strongest indication yet that star power alone doesn't make you a hit on cable and that, with a variety of viewing options available, cutting it there is tough.

If a tree falls in the woods, does anyone hear it?

These deep philosophical questions need answers someday.

MSNBC, averaging 392,000 viewers in prime time, is a ratings embarrassment for GE. Fox News Channel draws 1.5 million viewers, and CNN draws 983,000.Pretty staggering statistics considering Fox News is not available to nearly as many cable customers as these leftist hacks.

I haven't watched MSNBC at all since they canceled "Alan Keyes is Making Sense."

After his recent
horribly biased anti-gun show, Phil Dinosaur's demise can't come too soon.
Bye, bye, bugeyes. Dont let the doorknob hit you in the arse on the way out.

They cancelled Alan Keyes in a lot faster time than they have Donohue. Why they have let Donohue hang on this long is beyond me. I have noticed, while channel surfing as I never actually watch MSNBC, that he seems to be back to his old daytime format. He's walking around with a mike, lots of women in the audience and talking about really stupid stuff. Donohue is NOT ready for prime time.
Good riddance, Phil!

What are they going to aks him? Darn it, you have to move fast at FR to get in a punch line. GMTA.

They seem to think liberal + big name = strong ratings + $$$$. Too bad MSNBC execs haven't heard of the past election. Liberalism is quite simply an unsaleable product, no matter WHO's selling it. They should pull the plug and put Phil Donahue out of his misery rather than watch millions more be flushed down the toilet. A money-maker for MSNBC he ain't.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer LIBERAL!
