It is only elevated when a rumor of a bridge is going to be blown up or some symbolic anniversary comes up. But when actual terrorist bombings and acts are taking place...the colors do not move. This is what makes part of this war on terror look not only silly in context...but downright embarrassing.

Get rid of this crayloa chart for morons and announce a REAL threat system that actually is worth a damn. I am insulted to look at this thing and think as an American it is supposed to tell me how scared or calm I am supposed to be.

They can take this chart and shove it. We are being warned by the FBI (yes the same FBI who was slammed for dropping the ball before 9-11 and after), that "Spectacular Attacks" are being planned to happen. The same kind of chatter and talk that was happening the days before 9-11.

I love my President. Don't think this is an attack on President Bush or the war. This is an attack on the system in general which is making us look like a bunch of kindergartners who need a red and green stop and go sign in our classroom if it is ok to use a toy or the bathroom.

Can't wait to see what Tom Ridge (who will be sworn in next week) will have in line for us next? Etch A Sketch's of possible suspects?

I don't even pay attention to the thing. And, God Forbid any real emergency should have to be told on FNC, with their FOX NEWS ALERT for everthing from Britney Spears having an ingrown toenail to some member of al-qaeda being captured/killed.

Gotta agree. It's kind of useless. At least, it never seems to get any USE. Only changed color one day.

And when things happen, like the LAX shootings and the sniper attacks, the chart is useless because no one is going to change the status AFTER something has already happened.

Nice smartass remark. It has nothing to do with whether or not I am hyper or whatever you are implying. It is a piece of useless art that is being used by our government to tell us what the status is of terror threats to us. It is worthless because it is never used when it should be. Maybe because they do not even trust their own instincts? It is pointless...get rid of it.

They broke in on an interview, yesterday, to tell about two planes colliding in mid-air, then went back to the interview. I haven't heard another word about the planes.

Also, when there is actually an attack going on of some sort or a series yes "series...very series" attacks...they try to say it is not terror related...just like oh I dunno...LAX?

The pilots died and plane wreckage hit a residential/commercial area, but fortunately no one on the ground was killed.

A large tree kept some wreckage from hurtling right into a crowded restaurant; at least, that's what they were saying on the news this morning.

I have had this theory that they will deny any terror attack from now on......we will have to see planes going into buildings before they will admit one happened.

They've been denying them all along. If on 9-11 there had only been one plane to hit the tower it would have been dismissed as an accident.

It is nothing but a way for the government to reliquish any responsibility of not telling the public that a terrorist attack is going to occur. You think they will ever have it on the button 2 rectangles? Of course not. They will also leave it on one of the top 3 to guard against any reprocussions from the public that a terrorist attack occured and it wasn't on a meaningful level of warning.

This is nothing but junk, which the media likes dearly to bring up.
