Radiologist says Carrs' brains are normal

A radiologist testified today that brain scans prepared for the defense of Reginald and Jonathan Carr showing alleged brain damage had been purposefully manipulated and the results skewed.

Dr. Norman Pay testified that his analysis showed the brothers both had normal brains.

He testified for the state as a rebuttal witness in the penalty phase of the capital murder trial. The defense for the brothers rested their cases earlier today.

Pay said he analyzed the scans for the first time on Tuesday after being called by prosecutors to examine defense evidence.

David Preston, a retired doctor and former professor from the University of Kansas Medical Center, testified for the defense last week that the brain scans performed on both brothers showed problems in the part of the brain that handles short-term memory and assigns risk to situations.

But Pay said his analysis shows that the color-coded scans prepared for jurors had been deliberated skewed. He also said the scan was not in the proper anatomical location, but tilted in such a way that it showed diminished area of the brain.

Pay discounted Preston's earlier testimony that the Carr's brain function was diminished.

"OW! [Tilts head left side down and thumps right temple] I was playing the world's smallest violin for Carr, and it fell in my ear...."

LOL ... Hey great! Now you have an ear for music.

Is there a liberal, bleeding heart, do-gooder organization that could print and laminate this tale of woe so we could read it while we wait for his brain to turn to purple mush at his execution?

Actually, I would prefer they make it into something more suited to the situation--toilet paper.

From the Psychologist's past:

Psychologist Dr. Mark Cunningham would have us believe he and his wife, county commissioner candidate Melinda Cunningham, filed only a business bankruptcy and not a personal one.
Well, it was pretty personal to their dozen employees, the local vendors and the bank that were left holding the bag for $368,008 in debt while Dr. and Mrs. Cunningham continued to live in a luxurious Lytle home with a pool and drive a year-old Suburban.
The bankruptcy was filed in February 1992, the same month Mrs. Cunningham became president-elect of the local Junior League. One wonders why she didn't go to work and help to pay the debt instead.
Is the bankruptcy relevant to her qualifications for public office? Yes, I think so.

Jonathan had what I call the five H's of attachment damage: hopeless, helpless, homeless, hungry and hugless.

Why not make it 11 hs? add Homicidal Homeboy Hanging from a Huge tree and then going to Hell where He belongs.

There's no reason we can't do both.

Nice find.

I'm sure that the anti-death penalty defense team is cutting Dr. Cunningham a
good sized check (of tax payers money) for his "unbiased" testimony.

Radiologist says Carrs' brains are normal

ANATOMICALLY normal perhaps...

A slap on the wrist to the reporter for not producing a headline which makes the clear differentiation.
