[history]
The cable news channel MSNBC is close to signing Gov. Jesse Ventura as a talk-show host after he leaves office early next year, the Wall Street Journal has reported.
Citing people familiar with the situation, the Journal said NBC News President Neal Shapiro and MSNBC President Erik Sorenson have been wooing Ventura and his agents at the William Morris Agency. Already a regular on MSNBC's political program "Hardball," Ventura would probably be scheduled for prime time, maybe the 7 p.m. slot occupied by Phil Donahue, the Journal reported. Donahue's comeback effort hasn't gotten big ratings.

According to what I've read, Mr Ventura was NEVER a Navy Seal. He graduated from Navy UDT school back in the late '60's or early '70's, and served some time in the Phillipines afterward.
As I understand it the old UDT School at some point evolved into the BUD's Training we have today. Those graduates are called Navy Seals.
I do however, periodically see Mr Ventura on TV wearing a hat with SEAL emblazoned upon it.

I believe that native-born Minnesotan's tend to be "accent-less" LOL..there is no such thing.
Everyone has an accent. No matter where you are from you have an accent unless you are mute.

I will not believe this untill Matt Drudge has it on his website. This is his kind of story. Besides he is more credible.

ABC, CBS. NBC--what's the difference? I wrote it down to remind myself to watch it--but the call letters didn't stick in my mind. I never watch any of their nonsense--just watched because Rush made an announcememt on his program.

I wonder if Mean Gene Okerlund(sp?) is going to be Jesse's M.C. They were together in that "Repossessed" movie, I believe. Quite a show it would be, I guess.

Your rant against Keyes is frankly far more appropriate to Jesse Ventura. The ONLY decent thing he did in his entire administration was when he WALKED OUT of the Wellstone 'Memorial' after being booed.
To: LadyDoc
He had three main topics -
Who killed Kennedy,
What does the government REALLY know about UFOs,
Industrial hemp.
I presume CNBC would be providing him some writters to give him something interesting to say,.

I think we can put that one to bed. If Ventura was touting a phone military record, real Seals would be calling for his head. That's never happened.
According to what I've read, Mr Ventura was NEVER a Navy Seal.

This analysis is by a "real SEAL" and is the most believable I've ever read.
Jesse's without a doubt a blowhard, and while many former SEALs have shared their experiences, in both interviews and books, the fact that Jesse clams up whenever asked for details means to me, having suffered through four years of his governorship, and previous years of his rantings on the radio, that he tells no tales because he has none to tell.
