Just a short announcement that the Vietnam War Traveling Memorial will be in Tallassee, AL tomorrow Nov 11.

Myself and Alas Babylon! plan to be at the Memorial at the Eveventh minute of the eleventh hour. We invite all Alabama and nearby Freepers to join us and pay our respects to the brave Veteran's who have made this country what it is.

Anyone interested in joining us post here and we will try and set up a meeting place and time. Alas Babylon! is much more familiar with the area and should be sending me directions shortly.

BUMP!

Folks, this is the Travelling Wall that is an 80 percent replica of the one on the Mall in Washington DC. We'll be there on 11/11/02 at the 11th hour.

Directions

From I-85 exit 26. Go north up Alabama route 229 about 8 miles. You go up a steep hill, which takes you into Tallassee city proper. Take a right at the first light, which will take you over the Tallapoosa river and first big dam. This is Highway 14. Follow this about 2 miles or so and the Wall is on the right in a pecan grove. There'll be signs at this point.

I am off to do honey-do's - Mow the lawn, Wash my truck and wife's car, go to gym with wife, etc etc.
