Cox, the third-party candidate, took much of the credit for Mannix's loss. As a Libertarian, Cox said his staff had been conducting exit polls that suggested his campaign had gathered twice as many Republican votes as Democratic votes.
"If I'm taking votes from anybody, I'm taking them from Kevin," Cox said Tuesday night.
Can anyone believe this idiot is actually bragging about putting in a Democrat?! I don't know much about how liberal or conservative Mannix is but it sure seems that this Libertarian's intentions were transparently set to get out the Republican and to get in the Democrat. I wonder how many nationwide share that idiotic view? Talk about setting back what you "purport" to stand for!

once again the libertarians have proven that they are on the side of raising taxes and spending-just like the Democrats- because they help elect them.

"Libertarian Tom Cox, garnered 4.6 percent of total votes in the nailbiter."
Their ideas and beliefs so closely mirror those of Republicans but they allow Democrats to slip in under the woodwork in every close race by making a little noise which is ultimately ignored. The Libertarians in Oregon are more like anarchist. Having lived in Eugene for years, we had real hopes for this race.
