God, I hope you aren't like this to everyone who asks about your party platform. Shessh. No, I don't guess I'll need to go look, I think I've heard enough and read enough.

I can see why people here would insult you. I guess there is just no common ground between Libertarians and Republicans and I'm content to leave it at that. I hope by responding to these old comments I am not interrupting the current converstation, if so, overlook it, it just seemed rude not to reply.

I'm seeing that Libertarians don't claim to be Conservatives. I find it difficult to understand why one of the complaints about Republicans is we aren't conservative enough, if you are Conservative, at all. Oh well, it doesn't matter. I do understand we have nothing in common and there is no common ground to reach across.

Ya see? Why can't you be nice?

How can you see why people would insult me?

I had thought so too, or had hoped so too. There isn't any. Libertarians hate Republicans and want to be our enemy. I have even been cursed today by someone I couldn't possibly have offended, because I hadn't said anything to him. I haven't said anything to anyone to deserve that rude treatment. It has been an awful experience and one I don't intend on repeating.

Oh Honey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean you personally. I meant 'you' as a pronoun. Forgive me, please.

It is VERY rare that an LP canidate ends up electing a republican....the third parties usually have the effect of putting into power those who they oppose the most....the GREEN Party helped G.W. win Florida....the LP canidate helped put Daschles little pawn back in. Ross Perot is THE reason Clinton made it to the White House the first term with only 43% of the vote. Thanks third party for giving us 8 years of the most corrupt adminstration in history, missle technology to Red China, and hundreds of LIBERAL judge appointments. You say I am a hoot, but there is NOTHING funny about democrats in power.

Please get your Alabama numbers corrected! Riley leads by about 3200 votes.

Signing off, Tom.

I am reminded once again why I like and respect some Libertarian ideals but don't want to get too close to the heavy breathers that wrap themselves in those ideals and no others. To go back to my original comment on this thread, doctrinaire Libertarians do pull some votes from Republicans, but not so many as folks might think. In the absence of Libertarian candidates, many Libertarian voters (as distinguished from Libertarian believers) would just be angry souls sulking in whatever keeps them warm at the moment and not voting for anyone.

And, carenot, is this enough debate for you?

Good night, Walter.

Your friend,

blau993

The ones that sound economic policy will enable. Gov't doesn't create jobs (unless you're a DEM) - it gets out of the way so that jobs will be created by the private sector. That's what W is after.

It seems to me there are so many other battles to fight, the Libertarians would get busy on them. Why is it they are ALWAYS carping about the Republicans when we are the only Party trying to help? I don't get it. What is their goal?

Libertarians long-term goal is to get Hillary elected to really punish us for not living up to their superior standards.

You didn't help do that. In fact, you screwed up big time and let the socialists win in those states. There is no excuse for such idiocy!

That's right, I laugh at you. I didn't realize I was also laughing at a democrat. ;-)

Old Jefferson needed to be tweaked because he is too full of himself and appears to lack a sense of humor.

Hmmmm...funny, this seems to be a common put down to (LP) people who are capable of making decisions for themseleves...that one is "full of themself" because they believe that they can make better choices than the current 2 party bureacracy about morality, drugs, where they spend their money, how to educate and raise their children, gun and property ownership, and doing business. Doesn't sound like he's full of himself to me, it sounds more like he realizes, appreciates and is willing to exercise his Constitutional freedoms and seeks not to have them infringed.

The Libertarians are NOT going to control ANY legislative house, but they may help democrats do so.

And to a libertarian, this doesn't make much of a difference at all. He was pretty well convinced that a Socialist of one stripe or another was going to be elected, no matter how he voted. But he keeps on holding out his vote as a lure to try to get the Republican to give up his socialist ways. The Democrats he's probably given up all hope of luring to his side.

Political tin ears with large axes to grind. Not worth the time.....

Libertarian party seems to be made up of people whose sole joy in life is getting Democrats elected just so they can rant that the Republicans shouldn't ignore them. Seems to me that it IS worth the effort to keep the lunacy from spreading.

The Libertarian party will never be significant enough to be anything more than a joke, but they COULD become significant enough to turn control of the country back to the Democrats by drawing enough conservatives to their side. Libertarians are as dangerous as the Democrats, IMO.
