Technically speaking, you need to actually have a soul before you can have a battle for one...

I'm pulling for Pelosi. I hope the Democrats lurch hard, hard left. I want them to lurch so hard left that even a few infantile and pouty libertarians will sober up at the voting booths long enough to make sensible and responsible decisions.

"We must draw clear distinctions between our vision of the future and the extreme policies put forward by the Republicans," Pelosi said from San Francisco. "We cannot allow Republicans to pretend they share our values and then legislate against those values without consequence."

This is priceless!

"Do you need some more rope, Nancy?"

"Enough for the entire party?... No problem."

The enemy doesn't have a soul, only a rapacious bloodthirstiness.

Right on! Pelosi and her wild eyed, shrill, anti-American and family hating axis of evil friends are going to make the Baghdad caucus the norm for the democrat party. It will be enough to sober up some libertarians (at least for a short while).

Republicans can have a lot of fun with this one. Every Dem-to-Republican crossover vote counts. Every Green vote counts (against the Dems!)

Go Pelosi!

from InsidePolitics July 12, 2001 Lawmaker calls Condit 'good member of Congress' WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-California, expressed confidence Wednesday in her colleague Gary Condit, calling him a "good member of Congress" and saying he "did not have anything to do with the disappearance of Chandra Levy." Pelosi's comments to reporters are noteworthy because few lawmakers have publicly come to Condit's defense in recent days. "I know one thing for sure and that is Gary Condit did not have anything to do with the disappearance of Chandra Levy. I know as a mother of five children, four daughters," said Pelosi. She said the "major concern" should be finding the missing former intern with U.S. Bureau of Prisons.Pelosi has known Condit since the Democrats both served in the California legislature in the 1980s. She insists he is still effectively doing his job despite the controversy.

We need her in the Dim leadership.....what a judge of character!

If the libertarians here at FR are representative of the Libertarian party, a move by the RATs to the left may actually result in many Libertarians voting RAT not Republican. Many Libertarians are essentially single issue voters. If the RATs pushed for legalizing pot or ending the WOD, they could probably gain half of the Libertarian vote such as it is. Throw in an isolationist foreign policy and the RATs might get all of the Liberarian vote. In the process though the RATs would most certainly lose the mussy middle.

There is no race. Pelosi will be chosen by the dems' caucus (next Thu, the 14th?).

She's worked up through the ranks,

she's 'next in line' in terms of the hierarchy of positions,

she's got lots of chits in terms of helping out other dems' campaigns,

she's a woman,

and she voted along with a majority of other dems against the war resolution.

That last, was when Gephardt lost the minority leadership spot.

Roger Hedgecock is filling in for Rush......he is discussing Ms. Nancy!!!

BTW, Daschle had the misfortune of being pre-empted by the prosecutors in VA, the UN vote, and the President.......did he ever give us the benefit of his thoughts this morning?
