To understand the election results, you have to appreciate that the Democratic mind-set, which led to Walter Mondale's failed candidacy, is the reason that party candidates fell from Miami to Minneapolis.
Mondale's U.S. Senate bid, orchestrated by party elders after Sen. Paul Wellstone's death, symbolized the Democratic off-year disaster.
Democrats failed to offer a clear vision of what they wanted to do on the big issues because they can't agree on what they believe. Instead, their campaigns were based on demographics or famous names.

He's right. I expect the Democrats to bolt Left even if Bubba and Terry McAwful would like to see the party continue to triangulate from all directions at once. The party's base is fed up with being muzzled since the late 80s and now they want to be back in the game.

I'm sitting here listening to "Congressman Harold Ford" on Imus this morning - grabbing for the brass ring of the Democratic Party. And, I noticed the "right honorable" Al Sharpton on O'Reilly last night, positioning himself for the same.
Please, oh Please!, Mr. Fox, please don' throw me in that thar briar patch!!!

The enemy has never had a soul, just a rapacious bloodthirstiness.

Yeah a party that cheats and steals from the American people doesn't deserve a reward. My husband and I just paid off a school loan(cheap government loans, Ha.)early. Would you believe, penalities, etc. cost us an additional 25%. That was a lot of money. We checked old credit card statements and these school loans are acutally charging more interest than credit cards. This is nothing short of loan sharking. I think the government gives these loans to the banks and they charge whatever they want to while the government enforces. How in the world can anyone, short of a billionare pay back anything? America should stand for opportunity, not breaking the backs of Americans. I am still in shock.
