It's official ...
G. Gordon Liddy has turned into a crabby old curmudgeon ("Back when I was a boy ...").

G. Gordon Liddy, defender of freedom and champion of the American Way... just forget about that whole "Watergate" thing.

It was about a decade ago, driving in my car, punchin buttons on the radio, I stumbled upon G Gordon's radio premiere in DC. I was absolutely shocked to find I wasn't alone. It was a JFK assasination moment. I'll always remember where I was and what I was doing at that time.
It led me to read and think and end up
with an understanding of just how blessed we are and a will to fight to continue it.
I owe this guy.

Last week on Fox and Friends, Steve Doocy said that he had once met Liddy and made him mad. He told Liddy that he named a cat after him - that he came home one day and found the cat holding it's paw over a candle - so he named it G.Gordon Kitty. Liddy's response was "that's a sick joke."

When I was a kid, black Americans were treated like dogs.
We're a freer, better country today. Thank goodness.

I always wished that I could strike up a meaningful conversation with grandpa.
He could tell me a yarn, and I'd piece together the forgotten history of contemporary times. ((1929-present))
My grandfather died before he could spin those tales, and the older folk I've met since then are on the wrong side of freedom, know it, and are too ashamed of who they are today, to speak of what happened in their past.
I'll buy this book.

Liddy makes a lot of noise about how we've lost our freedoms then [at least on the radio] turns around and wants Daddy to have more federales with more dinero. Also, he's a bit much to take when he flips to his dirty-old-man routine. Nonetheless, he's a realist on some issues such as immigration which he sees neither party ever giving more than lip service on making changes: the Dems because of the votes, the Reps for the cheap labor.
