I love a woman who uses the word "pellucid" correctly in a scathing diatribe...

Yes, Ann Coulter, princess of our hearts. I feel a song coming on...

Democrats may be forced to shut down operations as a party and re-enter politics under a different name. The party formerly known as "the Democratic Party" will henceforth be doing business under the name "the Abortion Party." That would have the virtue of honesty. Love of abortion is the one irreducible minimum of the Democratic Party. Liberals don't want to go to war with Saddam Hussein, but they do want to go to war to protect Roe v. Wade.

What a miserable party. I'm glad to see their power end, and I'm sure they'll all be perfectly comfortable in their cells in Guantanamo. As Jesse Helms said on Ronald Reagan's election in 1980: God has given America one more chance.
If W can do half what Reagan did we are in good shape for 04 and beyond.

"That would have the virtue of honesty. Love of abortion is the one irreducible minimum of the Democratic Party."
Yes, but oddly enough at least two groups of Democrats (e.g. Catholics and church-going Blacks) proclaim precisely the opposite value. They vote Democratic (by and large) yet pretend to be pro-life.
Will that dual-identity continue, or will Republicans make inroads into both communities?

There are scores of smart people on television and radio telling us the WHY of yesterday's elections but Ann, wonderful Ann, alludes to it in a throw away line.
"That would have the virtue of honesty. Love of abortion is the one irreducible minimum of the Democratic Party. Liberals don't want to go to war with Saddam Hussein, but they do want to go to war to protect Roe v. Wade." The one inescapable fact that becomes clearer and clearer to me each day is the fact that while we are at war only a portion of Americans realize it. Blessedly, nearly all of them voted on Tuesday.
The "politics as usual" crap was just that much more unseemly while Americans were being targeted by our enemies in every corner of the world. To see the dems and so many others deal so off-handedly with the danger moved serious people to vote more seriously than ever before. Ann cites the losses suffered by Roosevelt 10 months after Pearl. But there was no question in 1942 that the US was at war while today it seems like the majority of Americans are suffering from some dissociative disorder that allows them to blithely ignore what is at risk.
The pundits and the prognosticators can wag their tongues until they work up a great wind. But a lot of Qwerty folks answered the old exhortation: Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party.

Man, I love Ann.

Will that dual-identity continue, or will Republicans make inroads into both communities? That's the question. And it should be brought out front and center.
No mercy.
Coming soon: Tha SYNDICATE.

Excerpts:

[But]That would have the virtue of honesty....
If the party formerly known as "the Democrats" don't like the factually correct "Abortion Party," how about "the Adultery Party"?
Nobody says it like Ann! My most heartfelt agreements to her closing statement:
God has given America one more chance
Hallelujah!
I hasten to add that God has given us the brilliant mind, lovely form, and articulate voice of Ann Coulter.
Another Hallelujah for that!
