[history]
In an age when arrogance and "Sharpie" pens steal the national spotlight, it is often the smallest, most unnoticed acts of kindness that remind us that football is merely a game.
The story, which is destined to become legendary in Southern Ohio circles, starts in Waverly. Northwest football coach Dave Frantz and Tigers

Those who play football on the highest levels should take notice. I don't get it.

What a story of humanity--just sent link to my two college age sons! Thank you.

I know lots of guys (including me) that would kill for the opportunity to be on a college football team. This guy not only gets to jon the team, but he gets a free touchdown from it? The sad fact is that they didn't do that for the retard, they did it to make themselves feeeeeeeeeeeel better. I'm not impressed.

What I want to know is when exactly did "Sharpie" pens steal the national spotlight?
To: SamAdams76
How can you not get it? I saw this story on the tube the other night and I almost cried. A bunch of kids (who shouldn't have been expected to understand the action they took) showed certain "grown-ups" in the NFL that there is something much bigger in football than dancing after a routine tackle, or pulling out a sharpie in the end zone.
The boys on those two teams, as well as the coaches and the refs, redefined and rediscovered the meaning of class and selfnessless on a football field. My hat is especially off to the coach and the team which was way behind at the end of the game. Total class.
Terrell Owens could take a lesson from this, but being a self-centered moron, he won't.

"The sad fact is that they didn't do that for the retard..."You sir, are an as.....
Never mind; it's not worth my time, but suffice it to say that I consider the boys on those teams have more class than your above comment, and the other equally moronic comments I read on this thread.
Sheesh....

They had it right the first time. Snap and take a knee and don't hurt the kid. Football is a game of accomplishment. The kid didn't earn the score. Just more meaningless form without substance.

The sad fact is that they didn't do that for the retard...That's as cynical as Clinton's underwear. (The used ones he donated to the Salvation Army and took tax deductions for.) Shame on you, toad.
