Parents' Rights Expecting Second Round of Legislative Attack Following Election

Sacramento, CA - Absent contravening federal legislation, parents' rights in California will likely be further challenged following the statewide results of yesterday's election. With the election behind him, many legislative experts anticipate Governor Gray Davis to more aggressively sign off on bills that were either vetoed or tabled during the last legislative session.

Such bills included AB 2651, which was vetoed by Governor Gray Davis on "timing grounds." It would have given broader discretion to social workers to disregard the religious beliefs and preferences of a foster child's original parents in choosing a place for them to live. "We expect to see this bill again, and we're doubtful a second veto would occur," said Mike Meers of the Capitol Resource Institute.

Regarding the impact of yesterday's election on future legislation, Assemblyman Tim Leslie said "Despite a two-seat Republican gain in the assembly, the legislature is expected to be even more liberal and anti-family than last year. Pacific Justice Institute is one of the few hopes we have at stemming the attack on the traditional family. Thank God they are there fighting with us." "Without question, we expect to have to work harder over the next two years due to the statewide election results," said Brad Dacus, president of the Pacific Justice Institute.

The Pacific Justice Institute is a non-profit 501(c)(3) legal defense organization specializing in the defense of religious freedom, parental rights, and other civil liberties.

"Perhaps George W. could spare a Predator equipped with hellfire for the CA state capitol for you good folks out there..."

One dude tried to take it out with a gasoline tanker a few years back but it didn't light off. As I remember, he slammed it into one of the entrances.

The black panthers took it over with shotguns once but got cold feet and didn't shoot anyone, just made a few of the legislators pee their pants.

I am going to warn Governor Davis right now. If they push this radical homosexual agenda through against the will of the majority of Californians, and he signs it into law. If he thinks the State has financial problems now, wait until San Francisco (the national capitol of radical homosexual agendas) is devastated by a 7.6 or 7.7 earthquake.

I suspect that the California government is going to financially self-destruct within 3-5 years. Better that it should do so under democRAT control.

This is the only bright spot. Davis can take credit for his own mess. I can't see how it can possibly take 3 - 5 years, though. We're bankrupt now.

I just can't get over all those bond measures passing. They think it's free money or something....

Kid, I can't. My kids and grandkids are here. I need to stay and occupy. It's really scary, though. Good Heavens!

Same, here. Been salivating to get out for years, but can't bear the thought of being away from our most important asset: our family. Therefore, must work harder to change things from within CA.

Maybe the new Republican US majority could save you. If they were to target Davis and his cohorts and shut down one such leftist scheme after another for four years with federal laws, then the people in Ca. might start to get the idea that their own leadership is out of touch with America, and ultimately do something about it.

Hmmmmm. Good idea! I wish they'd start with nation-wide ban on partial birth abortion AND make it illegal for minors to have abortions without parental consent. For victory & freedom!!!

Just wanted to repeat what you wrote.

If this weren't so tragic, that would be funny. Actually, that's already happened to some poor young girls - not to mention "Take your son to a homosexual orgy Day"! (No kidding, people.)

For her, anybody who is against abortion or is accused of being allied with the "Religious Right" must be defeated.

Surely we are in the last days. Wrong is right and right is wrong in California.

Surely we are in the last days.

Quite likely.

But even if we muddle on for a while, California will surely be shortly visited with the Wrath of God. In fact, it has been experiencing it for some time now, IMHO. The Democratic Sweep is part of the punishment here on Earth. It will just make the case more clearly for repentance!

Yes, I believe it was in the Wall Street Journal poll that The Socialist Workers Republic of Kalifornistan was 50th of the 50 States as in anti-business.

I am on the Economic Development Commission of our small City here in Texas, and a Kalifornistan company is in the process of moving here to our Industrial Park.

Kalifornistan is in deep clinton.
