I wish I could convince Freepers to quit going over to DU because they aren't worth our time. Then don't go.
I avoid the insane asylum like the plague because the few times I have visited I almost popped a vein. But, I am thankful for the few hearty souls willing to venture into the depths of delusional absurdity that is DU and report some of the mind-bendingly ludicrous nonsense that passes for knowledgeable banter over there.
It's fun to laugh at them.

LOL! Here's a reply by Coventina:
I share your fear.
Tomorrow I'll be brave---I'm just not brave tonight
Tonight I feel hopeless and scared
Isn't that from "The Brave Little Toaster?" Maybe not.

Please DO NOT accuse people of being "freepers" |
I have noticed a disturbing trend on this message board, and it has got to stop NOW.Often, when people dare to suggest something that does not parrot the typical DU party line, they get accused of being freepers. Sometimes they will agree with the DU party line and STILL be accused of being a freeper, because their posts "smell funny." THIS BEHAVIOR IS PARANOID IN THE EXTREME, AND IT MUST STOP NOW. You are driving away thoughtful Democrats who want to participate on this board. When you accuse someone of being a freeper, YOU ARE HURTING DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND. If you do not like what someone has posted, POLITELY explain why they are wrong. Do not point fingers and call names. And if you think someone is actually a freeper, click the "Alert" button on their post. The moderators will deal with the situation properly. |

I know what you mean. Sometimes you can find, in a sewer, interesting crap to poke a stick at, but I sure don't want to be the one to go down there to discover it.

But please don't hit the "refresh" button on your Web browser every 5 seconds, or we'll never come back online. You know, a coin or paperclip shoved down next to your F5 key can refresh a page indefinitely while you're away from your computer, and you can set 'key repeat speed' as slow as needed on your Control Panel, to ensure that each hit has time to register on the site... but of course, that would be unethical. Or something.

I saw this late last night...laughed myself silly. I don't know who the hacker was...but I gotta say...good going. The reboot was a nice touch. I am so happy today, I am silly at work..even bought lunch for my staff. God Bless America

DU is not DOWN.
All they've done is remove forum links from their front page.
MASH HERE to sneak in the side door.

I have to agree with you. I don't go over there and hacking a web site to me is a criminal act. It may be funny but it won't be funny if it happens to a conservative site. I thought FR was hacked last week when we went through the frustrating slowdown.Same here. Jim Robinson said he didn't know what was going on last week. It's funny to laugh at the lab rats, I've been guilty of that, but hubris is always waiting.

This is actually payback for hubris of theirs. A long time ago they allowed a thread to exist which called for hacking and "taking over" Free Britannia. I am no longer owner of that site, but I was at the time.
Basically them being hacked is their own desires boomeranging right back onto them. It's merely a javascript popup, nothing particularly serious.
