Daschle quote said that he was "very concerned" that he would lose his position as Majority Leader in the Senate after having looked at the latest results showing GOP takeovers nationwide including SD, CO and MO and maybe even MN he said "it looks to be a GOP night."

well, if the night continues as it is, i don't mind the democrat leadership so much... i hope they stay and keep dragging the liberals down their sinkhole... why would i want someone more politically astute in there? ... i just hope that trentlott/W try refrain from figuring out a way to powershare w/ the libs

I called this over two hours ago. It looks like we may even get the two seat Senate pickup we were all dreaming about! Given the GOP successes in the Senate, the House may even exceed the five seat pickup I was predicting! Rush Limbaugh said it was thanks to Bush nationalizing the election for the GOP. Probably correct. This is a very historic election for the GOP. Biggest first term midterm election success since FDR in 1934

What amazes me is that Daschle already seems to be thinking about pulling another jeffords. DOESN"T HE GET IT???? People are SICK of rat cheating and fraud. They want their America back.

Tom Daschle: Man or Midget?
A few weeks ago, The Hotline reported that in an effort to make him appear taller, aides to Senator Tom Daschle had begun stacking phone books in his chair when he and Dick Gephardt held joint news conferences in which they both were seated behind a conference table. "Nahh...Daschle couldn't be that short," I thought. I always knew Daschle to be a small man, but I had never given much thought to his physical stature. So, intrepid cyber-journalist that I am, I conducted a little investigation to find out just how short Tom Daschle really is, and the results are astounding. All of these photos were found at Tom Daschle's website (which, incidentally, is just as lame as he is) and other than adjusting their size, none of the photos have been digitally altered in any way. I SWEAR!
|
It is interesting to note that in this photo, Tom is standing a foot closer to the camera than anyone else, and he still looks like a toy poodle. |
|
This young female South Dakotan is probably 15 (16 tops), yet Daschle can look her in the eyes. We can't see their feet in this photo, and I'm betting the reason is because Tom is standing on the D.C. Yellow Pages. |
|
This photo is interesting because the young lady appears to be purposefully slouching and bending at the knees to make Tom look taller. I guess someone else must have been using the phone book that day. |
|
This picture makes Tom look like an underdeveloped 8th grader posing with his date for the school dance and her father. |
|
Yet another example of Daschle towering under a teenager. There are three things that never change in all of these photos: Tom's unusual lack of height, those hideous paintings of cows on the walls, and the amazing consistency of Tom's "smiling for the camera" pose. I guess it is true that reptiles have only one facial expression. |
|
This photo goes to show that Tom is not only short, but he is thin as a rail, too. I could knock this guy down by breathing on him. |

Rush said that should the Widder Carnahan lose, The Senate turns back to control of the Republicans immediately. 50-50 tommorrow should the Widder concede. Is this right?

Fox News just said Bush Admin was just informed that Coleman will win in MN!!! This is shaping up to be an amazing GOP sweep of virtually all of the close Senate and Gubernatorial races! I am sure the news on the House races while less important will be quite good as well given this very obvious GOP trend which is frankly the very best we have seen since 1994.

LOL! The liberal loons over at DU are mighty angry--and are openly speculating about Daschle's future. Check this post out:
"[B]efore {Daschle and Gephardt] get booted out of their leadership positions after tonight? This was a debacle. . . Just look at what we've really lost tonight barring some miracle that hands us the Senate. The Right Wing can openly appoint judges are psychotically conservative as they like with nobody to stop them. Are you ready for an Antonin Scalia on every federal bench? We can say good-bye to abortion rights. We can say goodbye to affirmative action. We can say goodbye to the separation of church and state. We can say goodbye to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The real impact tonight is that for the first time in decades the GOP has the power to pass through EVERY SINGLE ISSUE on its agenda. Think about that. This goes beyond privatization of Social Security or prescription drugs. Think about every horrifyingly stupid proposal you've heard the GOP make.... flag-burning amendments, national ID cards, forced school prayer, freeing the FBI and CIA from any oversight, and on and on and on. Tonight a Republican era begins. God help us."
* * * *
Except for the dissonant, clanging, absurdly funny plea to Deity at the very end, the loon's post has a lot going for it: brevity, accuracy, and refreshing honesty. Oh, it's a little bit hyperbolic and swooning--but the gist of it is spot on.

The incredible shrinking weasel!

Dashole needs to see if his head will fit in the same trashcan that Carville placed over his head on CNN
This worm-ridden POS needs to understand that Americans are tired of his crap, and we DO want our country back. Can there be hope now of sending Fat Ted Kennedy out to pasture?
When all is said and done, we Freepers must send a message loud and clear to those in Washington, D.C. that we want our border with Mexico closed. No More Illegal Aliens!!
The Peoples Republik of Kalifornia is suffering under the weight of having to support a burgeoning population of illegal immigrants.
Go GOP! Go Simon!

Yip. The Pubs would control immediately.

That's what I heard too. The widder will lose her seat under MO law, but the Gov may wait to seat Talent. This probably goes to court. What is the current make up of the Seante? Didn't Welstone's Dem seat get changed to Independent due to Ventura naming a replacement?
