Just received e-mail from brokerage firm saying that their overnight polls show GOP loses NH, ARK, CO and gains SD and MO for a net loss of 1. Mondale and cleland win as does Dole.

Yeah. Nothing more trustworthy than a brokerage firm! :-)

Did they predict whether Robert Rubin will be drawn into the Citigroup financial mess associated with WorldCom?

Uhh, I work for a major brokerage firm; since when are brokerage houses in the political polling business?

Or do you mean some big wheel at the firm has some high placed GOP friends?

I've always understood the brokerages to have political operations. It's just another number to throw into the mix.

I disagree with NH. I also think the GOP has a good shot in CO. MN and GA are also in play with Chambliss showing good momentum in the polls in the last two weeks. Also, it is raining in Georgia today. I agree with them on ARK, SC and MO. I also think Forrester isn't likely in NJ.

I still stick with my prediction of Pubbies +3 in Senate. Could be +4 if LA goes to runoff in December.

But, hey, what do I know?

Yes, and like the "informed" analysts on CNBC, they probably recommended "growth" companies like Enron, CMGI and Global Crossing. Many brokerage companies have proven they know next to nothing about their own specialty area, stocks; I trust them even less in an area completely out of their bailiwick, politics.

Good questions, but what you *should* be asking is why alnotgore has not made one post until today...

I have to disagree with GA. It's raining like hell there and the welfare cheats would rather stay in and watch Oprah than vote. NH is in play still also according to several polls. I prefer to see results rather than polls.

Nope...you forget the underepresented GOP and Ind. vote...

We win NH, Col and possibly Ga to take the Senate back,,,also La. is a lockdown for a runoff which we could also win.

IT'S ACTUALLY WAY TOO CLOSE TO CALL FOR THE SENATE.

the Schwann's guy was delivering a couple of frozen shepherd pies, and dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets, and he said the same thing. GOP -1. Guess that seals it, can't go against the unknown brokerage firm and the Schwann's guy.

Name the brokerage firm.

Whatever firm it is, I wouldn't put any stock in what they say even if their word is their bond.
