I had an early medical appointment this morning so on the way back I tuned in WBAL (Rush Limbaugh's local affiliate). Their morning show hosts, two men (One named Andy Parks) and a female, were bantering about the subject of some fliers that were left on car windshields in a predominantly black county near DC. It seems that the fliers, sans letterhead, warned voters that if they had had outstanding warrants, parking tickets, etc. that those voters should avoid polling places because election officials would be cross checking names and it might result in an arrest.
The hosts were treating the incident lightly with a jovial debate whether it was a Republican plot or a Dimocrat reverse psychology conspiracy to get out the vote when this female phones in and asks if any of the hosts had heard of FReepers. None had. She explained that Freepers were from Free Republic and were virulently anti-dimocrat and quite capable of perpetrating this incident.
Andy Parks jumped on it and said he would be looking them up later and wouldn't be surprised to see mention of it on MSNBC now that it had been announced on their show. His male counterpart, a lib, said FReepers sounded like a likely source. They went on about FReepers for a couple of minutes before they cut to commercials.
I hope the little witch got a kick out of it.

Kind of like anonymous phone calls in Georgia the night before the Democrat Primary, warning Republicans that voting in another party's primary was illegal.
Do Democrats get more parking tickets? Hee hee.

Was that one of the downloads I was supposed to print out and stick on 150 windshields? Sorry, but I didn't click on that thread.

Idiots.
Any self respecting freeper, would have put it on DNC letterhead.

Fine. Let her prove her ridiculous allegation. JimRob should sue her for libel.

WBAL has a conservative audience so I would worry about it too much. But somebody from the Maryland chapter should call in to disabuse them about FreeRepublic!

Thanks for posting, I wondered where this rumor that if you owe back rent you can't vote started from.
Who on earth would believe this? Wait, the target audience would. Maybe that says something.

Just heard a black conservative caller call into WCBM here in Baltimore, saying that the police have a suspect and guess what? Suspect is black and probably works for the Democrats. Of course, no one will know that until this evening's news cycle, too late to affect the election.

Just goes to show you that freeping is good! That little liberal hates our free speech so much she has to make wild claims on radio shows. They are worried about us!

WBAL isn't 630AM I think it is WMAL, WBAL is 1090AM.

One of the Fox shows had a copy of this flyer on the air. It was funny because it said something like "Be sure to have all your parking and moving vehicle tickets, and outstanding warrants, cleared before you show up to vote on Wednesday."
To: lelio
Actually, I saw the flyer on FOX last night, and it was even funnier than has been reported here. It urged recipients to be sure to go to the polls on Wednesday but to make sure first that all their parking tickets were paid, they were up to date on their rent, and they had no outstanding warrants.
