Yep. And I certainly hope the GOP has just as many lawyers waiting to slap them down. Look for challenges in Missouri, Florida, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Colorado.

Left house at 6:55, arrived at poll at 7am, second in line, voted (Republican), stopped at McDonalds for breakfast, and home by 7:15.

I love living in a small town.

It is a cool and clear day here is West Texas. A perfect day to vote! On my ballot were 32 offices and 12 of them were unapposed --- ALL Republican! Yee-HAH!

The turnout was reasonbable for this time of day.

BTW, why not do away with the corrupt precinct system which is subject to gerrymandering disputes, and simply adopt the existing public school district boundaries as our precinct boundaries?

Just voted. The most contentious issues here in Arizona are three propositions relating to Indian gaming. I supported 202 ("17 tribes", expands gaming to more reservations) until last week, when Sheriff Arpaio had the spokesman for competing Prop. 201 arrested in the middle of a campaign speech, on the grounds that the shirt he was wearking resembled that of a police officer. This event aone caused me to switch to 201, which would allow racetracks to set up urban casinos.

And I also went Yes on the medical marijuana proposition.

I proudly voted against the wheelchair!!!

Good for you! I've called my sisters, my mother, my m-i-l, and a cousin, just to remind them to vote (with a double-reminder to vote against Cleland).

When I got to my precinct in downtown Brooklyn at 9:15 am I was voter 152. There were 4 machines, 2 of which were for my apartment complex: a group of 7 16-floor buildings rumored to have 100% voter turnout -- almost all Dem. :( . Of the 2 machines for the complex, one was broken. I didn't see one person vote on the other 2 machines for my entire 30 minute wait.

I voted straight Republican, which was a welcome change from election 2000 when the mechanism for voting Republican for Senator was disabled and I had to vote for Lazio on the Conservative line. (This was a typical Dem. dirty trick -- 2 friends from other parts of Brooklyn found their mechanisms disabled as did Don Imus, who voted from Manhattan.)

I wore my Sore Loserman t-shirt under my coat to vote, along with my flag tie as a headband.

Greetings from the socialist state of MD. Voted this AM for Ehrlich and the Repub. ticket. There were only a handful of voters at the new polling site around 8:15. But there was a line earlier, acc. to the poll workers. There were no problems with voting, but as usual, no ID was checked... just asked for your name and address... of course we won't have any fraud here!!!!

I just voted my straight Republican ticket here in Southern Maryland. Turnout was light, but that is not a surprise. We are a fairly rural area, but within easy commuting distance to DC and several large military installations so those voters will hit the polls late today.

Polls open at 6:00 AM in lovely Republican Lake County, Illinois. There were just a few people there. It is a very dreary day here. My vote went straight Republican of course. There were some offices and judgeships where the Republican is unopposed. There is big stink on WLS-AM about an attack ad for Lisa Madigan (Dumo candidate for Illinois Attorney General) in yestrday's Tribune that linked Joe Birkett (Republican) to the Sniper shooting because he got money from the NRA (actually a group with in the NRA connected to law enforcement). She is the daughter of the Illinois House Speaker and is the most unqualified candidate that I have ever seen. She has never tried a case in court. She has a chance to win due to Cook County vote fraud. The most interesting aspect of this election is that Mayor Daley appears to be sitting it out. I think he wants the Republican candidate for Governor to win. If there is a Democratic Governor, Daley will no longer be the number one Democrat in Illinois. I would really be interested in seeing his ballot. The Daley inaction may keep the Cook County vote fraud down for once.

Voted straight Republican here in North Idaho, a conservative stronghold. It's fun to see the Dems up here waving their signs. The patron saint of the Idaho Rats is Saint Jude(specializes in lost causes). I just hope voting Republican makes a difference. I'm beginning to lose heart with the spineless Right on the national level.

It's even worse in Wisconsin; all you have to do is mention a name, and as long as it's on the list and isn't marked off, you get a ballot. Oh, and if you're not on the registered list, just head over to the next table and produce a utility bill.

I love living in a small town.

Me too! I made a fresh pot of coffee for the poll workers while I was waiting. No use worrying about losing my place in line. Everyone knew everyone else and who was next in line.
