Mark, USArmy – HI, Mark, that is so great that your sister’s friend gave her one of the USO business cards. Our very own Burka Man thought them up and AntiJen set things up so we could all print them and pass them out. We come here every day to honor our troops for the jobs they are doing protecting our freedoms, and to make the Canteen a place that you can come to 24/7 and find a “Touch of Home”. We sure are glad you found your home-away-from-home. Come on in, pull up a chair, and relax for a bit. We'll do our best to keep you company. God bless you for the job you are doing.

I'm doing fine. Do you have your ear bunnies on today? Of reports received so far, only one injury: an elderly lady fell down her rocking and rolling stairs and broke her arm. Reports still coming in about property damage. Here's a story: A Hell of an Earthquake for you. And reports are that the effects were even felt in Louisiana marinas. Wow! That surprised me! *HUGS*

Hi there, Carol!! I'm so glad you liked your dolls (I loved that buff one LindaSOG made for you - very cool!), and that you "attended" the Halloween party! It was a blast!

I wanted to take a second and thank you for your kind words about my father. He was a combat medic and he got nailed there himself - it's quite a story. Kind of a miracle he made it home. He owed his survival, in part, to two Marines whose names he never knew. I sure wish I could thank those guys myself.

Whoosh! Hi, Snowbie! I missed you all so bad yesterday, but we were gone the entire day entertaining friends. Then we had to hurry to church for Bible Study. And tonight, we are off again. I'll try to hurry and squeeze this in and tell you that once more the Mail Call has reduced me to tears.

How this can be with such funny letters, I don't know, but they are SO loving, and so charitable, I can't help but want to hug each and every writer until his (or HER--Fluffy Pickle Squirt!) eyes pop!

Anyway, I won't have time to answer each email separately, but I want each of these wonderful people to know how much I love them. We pray for their safety every day. (I remember when my son was stationed in Turkey how much it meant to him to hear from home, so I wrote two or three times a week. He must have thought I was a kook, but I know he loved every word.)

So I am giving orders here: If you have a loved one overseas, WRITE OFTEN! not only that, but WRITE OFTEN!!! We love you troops! Come home safely, and bring the VICTORY!
