Thanks rintense!
I just finished watching the President's speech in South Dakota on our local tv. I think it's going to be on CSPAN around 10:00 ET tonight.
It was a thank you rally for the campaign workers in SD. About 7,000 rowdy, pumped up people there (they call themselves the "Thunatics"). The president said he came to 1.) support the candidates, 2.) meet up with Laura before her birthday. The whole crowd then proceeded to sing "Happy Birthday" to Laura, who looked really embarrased. The President laughed and said "There's your present, honey."
Also, later in the speech the President was talking about "some Senators" that were being difficult and some guy screamed out "Tom Daschle". The whole crowd roared with laughter and cheers, and Bush tried very hard not to laugh.
BTW, Daschle and the rest of the Dems were having their own rally tonight. Looked like there were only a few hundred people there.

Hi, I have been doing some more research for you. I found Kenneth's death notice. I thought by going through someone else in your family, I could find you some more info. I think I found your dad's, too. Have to go back and find the correct one! I will keep you posted on how I am doing. It may have to wait til later in the week since Lynn is having surgery Tuesday. I am going to be at the hospital with her a lot. The hospital she will be in is only a few miles from here. Believe me, I am getting use to spending time in hospitals. She will probably not get to vote since she has to be at the hospital Tues. morning very early.

I watched that Minnesota rally, too, and I have NEVER seen a crowd so pumped-up and enthusiatic!!! The word "electric" doesn't even begin to describe it ..... and that was what came across on tv. I can't even begin to imagine what it would have been like to be there in person.

LOL! I find myself becoming British once in a while too!
I am soo happy for you that you get to go see the President tomorrow! That is the best news. Of all of us, I think we were all hoping you would be the one who got to do this! Now there are several Bush/Babes who have shaken his hand, and even were lucky enough to get a kiss!
Lawgirl, if you get bussed by the President, we will all be able to hear your screams whereever we live! You won't have to tell us! :-)

Get a business card made up to give to GW. the card should have the web address of FR. When you hand it to him explain that this is a website with a huge number of patriotic Americans that are mostly Republicans. On the card you can mention the Daily Dose.
BTW he gravitates toward people that mention that they are praying him. When I met him, a lady in our group stated that she was praying for him and he spent an little more time with her allowing her to get a picture with him. SS should allow you to have a camera with you.
If the WH press corp is taking pictures at the time they will get your try to get your info and send you a copy of their version of the pic.

I say, "Lawgirl, is that you?" LOL!LOL! Isn't that the truth? How long has that phrase been repeated on the dose? LONG TIME! Isn't it great that she is finally gonna see him? Don't you think we should be able to, too? Unfair, he isn't coming to these parts doggoneit!

Have a funny story for you all :-)
My wife and I went out shopping for new Coffee and End Tables today and when we got home there was a frantic message from our daughter for me to call her IMMEDIATELY, My first thought was something was terribly wrong for her to insist that I should return the call and not her Mom. The message was like this (In 90 MPH English) "Dad, Oh My God, Dad, Call me as soon as you get in"
I hear this meesage and think the worst! I dial her number so fast that I messed it up twice before getting through. When she answers I say (In 90 MPH English) "Oh my God What is Wrong" She says in an equally fast voice, "You aint going to believe this... President Bush left a message on my answering machine asking for me to vote Republican" .... I hesitated with a sigh of relief and responded... "Well? are you going to vote Republican?" she says "I wasn't raised by Al Gore" ....LOL... She made my day

Good evening all...
I was blessed today- Attended the rally in Springfield and got to shake our President's hand. Furthermore, I said vocally to him as I looked him in the eyes and took his hand " We're praying for you President " President Bush responded "That's the best thing you can do. " I had a hand held recorder and I have been playing the recording over and over all afternoon and evening. It did not pick up W's voice.
I will have a more detailed response shortly.
I am nearly computer illiterate. I used a digital camera for the first time today. I am sending chnsmok the images to post on the dose. The manual said the pics. were to be 4" X 6". When I opened them up, they were nearly half again as big as my 17" monitor. I sent 6 pics. in an e-mail. This amounted to 2.5 mbs. Not good. Sorry about that chnsmok. If anyone has any advice I am all ears. Thanks. freepersup

Wow, the second picture of Laura is beautiful. She looks wonderful. What a woman, and I read that she is quite the hit, of course!

...she says "I wasn't raised by Al Gore" ....LOL... She made my day Cute story, MJY! Thanks for sharing it!

I personally have said "Lawgirl, is that you" at least a hundred times, even once when it was someone dressed up as a fuzzy little critter. Does anybody have that picture in their stash? LOL!

MamaB. My father spent a lot of time in the hospital and when he happened to be in there on election day, they brought him an absentee ballot and he voted right there in his hospital bed. Perhaps that can be arranged for Lynn too. You could call the election board, or the Pubbie headquarters and find out.
