The Democrats couldn't buy him off. What do you think of that?

I'm thrilled, but how do you know? I can't find news of it anywhere. I know he had booked time on CNN for 6:30, but I must have missed it somehow.

Sweet! He was just milking the publicity to stick the knife in deeper. I guess he's no wimpy Ross Perot type after all.

That Golisano has a chance to put the Socialists in third place, which means they will be in the third row of the ballot at the next election.

It was on Upstate New York news casts. CNN and the like. Delivered about a 2 minute message ... states that McCall is part of the problem!

And I would ask someone to explain to me how bad it would be for Democrats if they don't finish second in the race. I can't remember what I heard people discussing when faced with the real possibility that Democrat McCall might finish behind Independent Golisono (sp). Real bad political implications for the Clintons, but even worse for the New York Democrat Party in the long term too.

States that McCall and the current administration are part of the problem is New York State. So much for backing McCall!

This is fabulous news. I was really afraid that somehow Clinton/Cuomo goons would "talk" him into dropping out of the race. Glad to know he's got big balls as well as big bucks. All the Friday speculation centered around the pressure Democrats were exerting on him to drop out.

I'm betting when they tried to buy him off with a lame position and he laughed, they threated him and his future...and he decided to stick it to them.

That's about what I thought. They found that they had nothing to offer that he wanted.

What Golisano really proved by all this is that Upstate New York is not fairly represented by either party.

On Tuesday, I think many of Golisano's upstate votes will go to Pataki as a statement to the Dem's....and McCall's anti-Upstate NY platform.

At least we know that Pataki is capable of running the state in good times and under the very worst of circumstances (9-11).
