"A crazy aberration. There was something very fishy about that whole thing. It seemed to me that the Democrats wanted Torch out of there more than the Republicans did. It's a mystery. "

No mystery. They wanted him out because he was losing and the loss would probably make NJ (GADS!) the state to change the Senate balance. The Republicans were very happy with Torricelli as long as the polls were going along as they were. Who would have thought that the NJSC would do the unthinkable.

About 'Dems with a conscience' - didn't we have a thread, at one time, about 'good' Dems----Schippers; also that handsome lawyer with the dark curly hair who couldn't abide Clinton,(can't think of his name); the people interviewed, on the street, who would not vote for T. because of his past????? There ARE some, but toooo few.

Okay, I'll give you that. Waaay too few.
But one who comes to mind is that guy who worked under Jimmy Carter... Pat Caddell, I think his name is? He is a screaming liberal but is absolutely appalled at today's Democrat Party. He is somebody I would call a "Democrat with a conscience".

Regards,
LH
