FAIRFIELD -- Bill Simon used much of his dwindling time on the campaign trail Friday to resurrect allegations about Gov. Gray Davis' fund-raising activities from more than a decade ago.

After a campaign rally inside the colorful Jelly Belly candy factory, the Republican candidate demanded that Davis answer 14-year-old charges that as an assemblyman running for state controller he used legislative employees and resources to raise campaign money.

The office of John Van de Kamp, a fellow Democrat who was attorney general at the time, investigated the allegations. But in 1988, despite strong recommendations to the contrary from a career prosecutor who worked on the case, no charges were filed, although Davis' campaign operation agreed to repay the Assembly $28,000 for resources used.

Wow!

Click here to download the California Republican Liberty Caucus' tri-fold pamphlet on the governor's race!

It's a .pdf file, so you'll need Acrobat Reader... it's free, and chances are good you already have it on your computer. Try the link and see.

Print it using the printer-icon button in the Acrobat toolbar in your browser (not File|Print in your browser's menu). It's intended for double-sided printing using single pieces of paper-- no stapling needed if you do it that way, and saves trees! ;-) Print one side, then invert the paper and feed it through a second time for the second side. Fold, and sally forth to get out the vote!

Give this to friends, walk your neighborhood, take it to stores, give a wad of 'em to your school, hand some out at your house of worship, at clubs, at stores and small businesses...

Let's retire Gray Davis!

Let's show the media and RINOs that "It's the base, stupid!"

Let's show Gray Davis that money can't buy him love ...or re-election!

Freepers and RLC activists can claim considerable credit for nominating Bill Simon, so now let's elect him!

The basic nature of the Davis philosophy is coming out!

Those in his administration thought they could get a little gravy also!

I'll ping the list.

For over a decade there has been no controlling legal authority over the Fascist Herr Davi$!

You're forgetting Lungren, but that's totally understandable.

No, he is the reason that there is no controlling legal authority since Davi$ became the head fascist.

However, he was not the Attorney General in 1988. Lungren received money from Whoreacle to pay him back for his vile attacks of Micro Soft.

I hate nitpicking like this, but...

You said: For over a decade there has been no controlling legal authority over the Fascist Herr Davi$!

So I mentioned Mr. Lungren, who as California AG was a controlling authority during the last decade and did not pursue the case when he took office while Davis was still State Controller.

You are correct in stating that the way Lungrunt booted the campaign foisted the fiendish fascist. Considering that he didn't boot the Bray into the pokey when he had the chance (and has said nothing publicly since), the case you inferred against Mr. Lungren perhaps goeth triple.

I hate RINOs.
