Edwards' new digs
The new issue of Washingtonian magazine provides a glimpse of Edwards' new Georgetown digs.
The front of the $3.8 million home is included in a four-page spread, "Knocking on the White House Door," that examines the residences of presidential aspirants. The magazine notes that Edwards' home is "just one block from JFK's first house with Jackie."
Edwards and his family recently purchased the house in the historic neighborhood of D.C. but are waiting to move in until renovations are complete.
The Edwardses' neighbors will include U.S. Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, another Democrat looking to move to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Kerry's 10-bedroom home, actually listed in the name of his wife's late former husband, is worth $6.5 million.
Aside from Kerry, Edwards' Washington home is the priciest of the potential 2004 Democratic aspirants featured.
Bing's big bucks
Hollywood film producer Stephen Bing has given $200,000 to the N.C. Democratic Party.
The gift in late September accounted for a sizable part of $1.5 million the N.C. Democratic Party raised from July through September in non-federal soft money.
"His interest is in making sure we have good representation in the U.S. Senate, the legislature and on the courts," said Scott Falmlen, executive director of the N.C. Democratic Party.
Bing, president of Shangri-la Entertainment in Los Angeles, is a large contributor to Democratic causes and is among the biggest contributors to North Carolina Sen. John Edwards' New American Optimists. Edwards solicited the contribution for the party.
The heir to a Manhattan real estate fortune, Bing was involved in a highly publicized paternity dispute involving actress Elizabeth Hurley.

This is a $3000 empty suit. Edwards is a trial lawyer, and he receives millions of dollars from other attorneys:
Edwards and his vile lawyer industry is a collection of truly evil, corrupt, vile, rapacious vermin. The legal industry spits on the Constitution and ethics. They regard themselves as being above the law. Lawyers steal and ruin lives without the slightest compunction.
These observations are shared by most Americans who regularly rate lawyers as having a level of confidence and respect at the absolute bottom of all professions and occupations. Edwards is the last person we would ever want as President: another lawyer/sociopath like Clinton.

C'mon lawyers make GREAT presidents. I think that last two were Clinton and Nixon.

Benjamin Franklin: "A countryman between two lawyers is like a fish between two cats."
In the case of leading lawyer vermin like Edwards and the Clintons, I would say RATS!

Benjamin Franklin also said, "A good lawyer, a bad neighbor."
In the time leading up to the founding of this country, just as they do today, lawyers were using the "law" to their benefit and against their fellow "citizens". Yet, not all lawyers are evil.

" Bing, .....
The heir to a Manhattan real estate fortune, Bing was involved in a highly publicized paternity dispute involving actress Elizabeth Hurley."
.During the Hurley mess, the long legged Miss Hurley said that Mr Bada Bing had a drug problem, was a playboy that never worked a day in his life,etc- a real stand up guy. Now he is involved in another messy paternity situation. He is accused by the head of the MGM empire,Mr Las Vegas-86 year old Kirk Kerkorian- of having an affair with his much, much younger trophy wife and fathering the child, she passed off as Kirk's. It's very messy- private detectives going through trash,DNA samples from hairbrushes, suits and countersuits. Frankly, I am surprised that even Edwards would want to get his hands dirty,by taking money from this guy. Were this a Republican taking money from this guy-bet the media would expose the sleaze and demand that the money be returned. Bada Bing has also given hundreds of thousands to the DNC in recent weeks. My mother used to have a saying-" Water seeks it's own level"- the Democrats are raw sewage.

Edwards also has a multi-million dollar home on an island off the coast....restricted community. These are the people who are always caterwalling about the homeless.

Edwards is the last person we would ever want as President: another lawyer/sociopath like Clinton.Let's not be too hasty in condemning all lawyers. There are some lawyers (yours truly comes to mind) who uphold the highest levels of ethics in their professional conduct, and who regularly donate time and legal services to Conservative causes. My personal favorite happens to be the 2nd amendment.
I agree with you that trial lawyers tend to be bottomfeeding scum out to make a quick buck, but many people are legitimately injured and deserve to be compensated (not rewarded, just compensated) for their injuries. Would you want these people to be deprived of competent representation?
